Soap takes planning. If I want to release a product 4-6 weeks from now I need to have made it yesterday or more realistically 2 weeks ago because all the little things like labeling, taking pictures, and loading products to the website all take time. If the product requires an infusion I need to have started at least a month before that. There are so many behind the scenes things that have to happen between making and releasing a product.

A lot of time goes into formulating new products. Choosing ingredients based on their properties in order to achieve a product that does what I want. Then sometimes spending weeks on infusions before I can initially make a product to test. Self testing, tweaking, self testing again. Getting others to test and evaluate it to see if it’s worth producing in a larger scale. Then starting over with infusions to make large enough batches to release. Then in the case of some products waiting weeks for curing. Sometimes the first time you see a product it’s been around for a year…
