H**p ban update: Congress just pushed the deadline from November 12 to December 11 — and it’s heading to the president’s desk for signature.
Synthetic cannabinoids still lose their h**p status on November 12, and that’s actually the right call — those products are a real consumer safety concern.
The bigger threat: if Congress doesn’t act by December 11, a limit of just 0.4mg of THC per container takes effect, which would make roughly 95% of h**p products federally illegal overnight.
Our read: expect another short extension in December tucked into a spending bill, with the real regulatory process pushing into 2027. Proposals like the Cannabinoid Safety and Regulation Act from Senators Wyden and Merkley are already in play — regulation is the right path, not prohibition.
