πŸ§ πŸŽ’ We believe every child deserves access to the support they need to thrive at home and in school.

πŸ‘ Thanks to a $1 million investment from UnitedHealthcare, Cone Health is expanding services across Guilford County Schools and Rockingham County NC schools through our School-Based Telehealth Program.

πŸš€ During the program's first year, 76 behavioral health sessions were delivered in elementary schools across our region. The initiative is now expanding to 24 additional schools, increasing access to care for more children and families.

πŸ’¬ "Even in elementary schools, we see students facing challenges that affect their focus, behavior and overall well-being," said Principal Trent Walton of Hunter Elementary School.

"Having behavioral health services at the school has helped connect students and families with support sooner. We've seen students gain tools to manage challenges and stay engaged in the classroom."

Lynn Sametz has always lived a healthy, active lifestyle and never smoked. But in 2017, she was diagnosed with lung cancer.

Many would be surprised to know that lung cancer kills more women than breast cancer, with about 20% of lung cancer cases occurring in non-smokers.

Lynn’s heart-health scan unexpectedly helped detect her lung cancer early, at Stage 3A, giving her nine more years and counting to do what she loves.

Listening to persistent symptoms can make a difference. When congestion lingers and other causes have been ruled out, ask your primary care provider whether lung cancer screening or diagnostic imaging could be appropriate for youβ€”even if you’ve never smoked.
