Alabama just put $144 million behind rural healthcare, with more still to come.

Governor Kay Ivey just announced the awarding of 138 grants totaling more than $144 million dollars through the Alabama Rural Health Transformation Program (ARHTP). For the 25 counties in Alabama with no birthing facility and no OB clinician, part of that funding could become 24/7 access to high-risk pregnancy care.

Big news out of South Carolina's Lowcountry. 💙

In a state where 41 of 46 counties are physician shortage areas, one hospital was determined not to let a shortage of maternal-fetal medicine specialists get in the way of caring for their high-risk moms.

In under 65 days, they had round-the-clock MFM coverage up and running. Here's what that's meant for their care teams and the families they serve.
