I was very humbled this year at tax time when my accountant said “why are you doing this Reiki thing? In a decade you’ve never profited from it”. I had to sit on that and realize that honestly, I’ve never done this for profit. Yes, my ultimate goal is to swing this full time and jump out of the corporate world but insurance, time constraints and parenting make that beyond difficult. I do this to help people. Having someone say “I’m feeling good for the first time in years” is the biggest profit I can make. I’m jumping FAR out of my comfort zone this fall to pass my lineage down, to share the light with others, and bring more awareness to the benefits of Reiki to our little community. The behind the scenes work of owning your own business is exhausting and many a computer have been flipped but the love for my clients and community keep me striving to learn more and be present on this road to healing✨ I’m forever grateful for those that help me keep this little business afloat and for Jessy Kay for providing such a beautiful space for me to let my energy flow🫶🏼

One of the lesser-known pieces of Reiki history is that Usui was not the first person in Japan to use the word “Reiki” for a healing practice. Several Reiki-related healing systems were already being practiced before Usui Reiki Ryoho emerged.
