This was such a special visit from staff and residents from Plaid House of Morristown! Carboni was certainly feeling the love! ❤️

Grateful to TRAC (Therapeutic Riding at Centenary) for welcoming our residents last week.

Our girls had a great time touring the farm, meeting the horses, and jumping into hands on activities like grooming and leading.

Experiences like these highlight the power of therapeutic riding in building confidence, emotional regulation, and meaningful connection.

We’re truly thankful for partners like TRAC who help create healing, empowering moments for our youth.

Thanks to an EQUUS Foundation grant, Therapeutic Riding At Centenary - TRAC’s longtime program horses Harriet and Petey received heavy winter blankets to keep them comfortable through the coldest months. Together, these remarkable horses have supported, taught, and inspired hundreds of participants and volunteers.⁣

Highlighting one more student instructor - Sam Van Steen - who has been doing good work this summer with our friends at Pegasus Therapeutic Riding in Brewster, NY! Having previously completed a high school internship at Pegasus, Sam was excited to return in a new capacity as an instructor-in-training. We applaud Sam for striving to diversify her student teaching experience and are grateful to Pegasus for providing mentorship and a great experience! We can't wait to see Sam back in the barn and arena at CU/TRAC this week! , , ,

We’re excited to continue to share all the exciting work that Centenary University Equine Studies Department’s therapeutic horsemanship students are doing this summer!

Rising senior Mary Padavan has been teaching and helping with program at equinetherapyofnj since May!

Mary says: “I teach therapeutic riding lessons and ground lessons to kids and adults of all ages. I love putting my skills to use and seeing the impact horses have on each individual as well as the progress each individual makes with the horses.”

Keep up the great work, Mary! We appreciate all your hard work for TRAC this summer, too! Your intuitiveness and kindness with both humans and horses is much admired! ❤️

We are proud and excited to share that TRAC has been recognized as an EQUUS Foundation 2026 Guardian! The purpose of the Guardians program is to encourage equine organizations to be transparent and accountable to the public through the disclosure of their equine care and use practices. Thanks to the awesome care of our veterinary and barn team, TRAC's horses and participants shine! We are glad that EQUUS Foundation sees it too!
