"This program gave me a community of people who have gone through or are going through the same thing as I am. As a Mentee, this program is so important! And as a Mentor, I can't think of anything I'd rather do than give back to the community."

CholangioConnect partners you with a mentor so you can get the support you need from someone experienced with this disease. Request a mentor today at curecca.link/cc.

🌍What began as a CholangioConnect mentor-mentee match in 2022 has become a friendship spanning continents.

Living thousands of miles apart in Kenya and New York, Irungu and his mentor Erica supported one another through life’s challenges. Over the years, they stayed connected through video calls, texts, family photos, and shared milestones.

After several missed opportunities to meet, they finally connected in person while Irungu was in New York City for the Tribeca Film Festival, where the film he performs in was selected for screening.

From brunch near Grand Central to a walk through Bryant Park, their conversation flowed as naturally as it had for years. Their story is a reminder that the connections formed through this community can grow beyond mentorship into lasting friendship. Mentorship is available for patients, caregivers, and bereaved caregivers. Please learn more and request a mentor or volunteer to be one here: curecca.org/get-one-on-one-support/

Be the reason someone finds support sooner. One simple action can make a difference.

Community Awareness Volunteers help connect patients and families to trusted CCF resources — often through small but meaningful acts of outreach.

That could look like:
• Sharing a CCF flyer with a local clinic or cancer library
• Posting a newly diagnosed resource on social media
• Connecting with a nurse navigator or healthcare team
• Bringing awareness materials to a community event
• Helping someone discover support they may not have found otherwise

You do not need medical experience to help someone feel more informed, supported, or less alone.
Every conversation matters. Every connection matters.

"The basis of our hope is investment in research."

Teresa continues to honor her husband Steve's memory through her work on CCF's board, where she is a powerful advocate for collaborative and innovative research advancements. The key: funding.

You can be part of this incredible hope. Your gift to Campaign for the Cure today fuels the next discovery, supports patients and families, and brings us closer to a future where cholangiocarcinoma is no longer a life-threatening disease.

Together, we're not just imagining a cure—we're actively building it.

"I’m asking you to support the Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation’s Campaign for the Cure today, so that families, like mine, facing cholangiocarcinoma can have more time together to enjoy the fun stuff." -Keaton Herzer, CCA Survivor

"Since my diagnosis, I’ve tried to make the most of the time we have: hiking fourteen-thousand-foot mountains here in Colorado, spending more time in the outdoors, and making memories with my family. Cancer has changed my life, but it hasn’t changed what matters most to me.

Just one month after my liver transplant, I had the opportunity to share my story at CCF’s Annual Conference in hopes of letting others know they are not alone on this journey and that it doesn’t have to be an isolating experience. CCF has helped provide a path forward during some of the hardest moments my family and I have faced. "

Your gift to the Campaign for the Cure can help fund vital research, connect patients to lifesaving resources, and give families more time together.
