Did you know that speech-language pathologists also help with feeding and swallowing? 🥄

Feeding involves everything that happens before food reaches the mouth, while swallowing is the complex, coordinated process that moves food and liquids safely from the mouth to the stomach.

Difficulties in these areas may affect nutrition, growth, mealtimes, and overall quality of life. With the right evaluation and support, feeding can become a safer and more positive experience. 💜

If you have concerns about your child’s feeding or swallowing skills, an evaluation with a speech-language pathologist can help.

The right people make all the difference. 💜

Healthy relationships are built on more than just being there. They’re built on communication, trust, support, and mutual effort.

Keep people in your life who:
✨ Celebrate your wins
✨ Show up when things get hard
✨ Hold you accountable with kindness
✨ Make space for vulnerability
✨ Reciprocate your effort
✨ Are willing to communicate, even when it’s difficult

Communication is at the heart of every meaningful relationship. Sometimes, feeling heard and understood is one of the greatest forms of support we can give each other.

💬 Tag someone who makes you feel seen, heard, and supported.

💜 Autism is not a limitation—it's a different way of experiencing the world.

Every child with autism has unique strengths, challenges, interests, and ways of communicating. Sometimes, behaviors that may seem unusual are simply a child's way of expressing emotions, needs, or sensory experiences.

As parents, teachers, and caregivers, our role is not to change who they are, but to understand them, support them, and celebrate their individuality.

✨ Be patient.✨ Listen beyond words.✨ Focus on strengths.✨ Celebrate every small victory.

The more we understand autism, the more we can create a world where every child feels accepted, valued, and loved.

💬 What is one thing you wish more people understood about autism?

Not all aphasia looks the same. 🧠💜

Aphasia is a communication disorder caused by damage to the areas of the brain responsible for language—most commonly after a stroke or brain injury.

Depending on the area affected, a person may have difficulty:
🗣️ Speaking
👂 Understanding language
📖 Reading
✍️ Writing

That’s why there are different types of aphasia, each with its own characteristics and treatment approach.

Understanding the different types of aphasia is the first step toward providing the right support and improving communication.

✨ Recovery is possible, and every small improvement is worth celebrating.

¿Solo están jugando? ¡Para nada! 💜

✨ Seguir instrucciones.
✨ Hacer peticiones y responder preguntas.

“The most important thing in communication is to hear what isn’t being said.” 💜

Communication is so much more than words.

A child’s feelings, needs, frustrations, and thoughts are often expressed through gestures, facial expressions, eye contact, body language, and behavior long before they can put them into words.

When we learn to listen beyond speech, we create stronger connections and better opportunities for children to communicate successfully.

Every look, point, smile, and attempt to connect has meaning.

At Arley Therapy Services, we help children find their voice while helping families understand all the ways communication happens every day.

✨ Sometimes the most important messages are the ones that aren’t spoken.
