Fungal cultures are easy, fast, and non-invasive.

Doctors are happy to blame thrush, tell you to boil every bottle, burp cloth, and pacifier, and give you a prescription instead of doing a culture and giving a referral to an IBCLC to rule out the most likely issues.

Ductal thrush is not a thing. A tongue that's white without other symptoms doesn't meet diagnostic criteria for thrush.

Babies feed with their whole bodies.

We make sure they feel comfortable moving head to toe!
Can their neck open up or do they tuck their chin?
Can their shoulders drop or do they wear their shoulders like earrings?
Are the creases under their neck even or uneven?
Are the folds red or is everything nice and open?
Does the tongue move easily in all directions or does it look "stuck", white, or dimpled in the middle when it moves?

There's more to feeding well than gaining weight. Make sure your baby gets a head to toe feeding assessment that includes a FULL feeding and oral exam. Follow for more!

"When can I stop sterilizing bottles and pump parts?"

You never needed to 😬 Normal washing and drying after use with a dishwasher or by hand is all that's needed. You don't need a countertop bottle washer. You don't need a sterilizer. If you WANT those things, go nuts. But don't feel like they're needed to feed your baby.
