Free care is still high-quality care ❤️

The Weekend Clinic earned Gold recognition for diabetes management and Silver for hypertension care through the American Heart Association.

We believe everyone deserves high quality care, regardless of their ability to pay. That means looking beyond what brought someone through our door, identifying health concerns, and helping them take the next steps.

These recognitions reflect the work our volunteers put into that mission and the community that makes it possible. (Also, it's our first year doing this!)

We’re proud of what we’re building here in Ironton. Thank you for being part of it. ❤️

Fantastic organization with fantastic people!

There’s something special about getting our network together in the communities where this work is happening every day. 💙

Our Southeast Ohio Regional Meeting was a great opportunity to connect and talk about the opportunities and challenges facing the communities we serve. We’re grateful for the collaboration and commitment that continue to strengthen our shared work across the region.

A special thank-you to Hope Clinic of Ross County for welcoming us and hosting our Southeast Ohio Regional Meeting. We appreciate all you do to help ensure people in your community have access to the care they need.

Against all accusations… we actually do have a heart. ❤️

Literally.

One of the tools we’re fortunate to have at The Weekend Clinic is point-of-care ultrasound: another way we can take a closer look when our patients need it.

We may be a small free clinic, but we’re always working to build our capabilities and provide better care for our community.

And sometimes… we get a pretty cool view along the way. 🫀

We are in the process of getting everyone trained, but we promise - we’re working to improve local access to high quality care.

P.S. it’s my (jakeofcogan) heart.

When we started The Weekend Clinic, we pictured something more like a minute clinic. A place for the sore throat, the ear infection, or the minor illness that couldn’t wait.

But, people also needed help managing high blood pressure, diabetes, anxiety, and other ongoing health concerns. As we listened to our patients, that became a bigger part of what we do.

We really didn’t expect how much of our work would involve chronic conditions. But we love being able to help. Our patients have helped shape what this clinic is becoming.

There are some things we can’t take care of in the clinic. Some concerns need a specialist or a higher level of care, and we’ll help people understand those next steps. But if we can help, we will.

That’s what we want our community to know. We’re listening, and we’re putting your support to work right here on Sundays.

📣 **Adjusted clinic hours this weekend: 1–4 p.m.**

The Weekend Clinic will close at 4 p.m. this weekend so our volunteers can attend our Volunteer and Donor Awards Ceremony, held from 4–6 p.m. at BeHope Ironton.

We’re looking forward to celebrating the people who have made free care possible and the difference they’ve made in our community over the past year and a half. Thank you for understanding and supporting our team!

👕 If you ordered a t-shirt, feel free to stop in this Sunday and pick up your order between 1-6pm.

🚨 Also, keep in mind that this weekend we will only be offering mental health services. Our typical medical services will be resumed on September 6th.

This Sunday will look a little different at Weekend Clinic.

We will be open from 1–6 PM on Sunday, August 30, but our provider services will be limited to **mental health care only**. Our mental health nurse practitioner (Missy - Absolutely fantastic!!!!) will be on site, but we will not have a general medical provider available for non-mental-health visits this Sunday.

Lab work may still be completed by appointment.

We are actively looking for additional medical providers who may be able to help cover occasional Sundays when one of our regular providers is away. Jake will be back next week, and we expect to return to our regular clinic services.

Thank you for being patient with us and for continuing to be awesome while our small volunteer team works to keep care available. Please share this update so no one makes the trip expecting a general medical visit this Sunday.
