Career Day – West Bemis Middle School
Courtney Hiscox, RN, MSN, DNP-C, MBA, Workforce Development Manager, collaborated with Mrs. Vicki Jones, a health science teacher at West Bemis Middle School, to participate in Career Day with her 8th-grade health science class on September 3, 2026.
Courtney spoke with students about the various career opportunities available within West Tennessee Healthcare and highlighted the many different pathways and specialties available within the nursing profession. The presentation included an interactive activity that encouraged student participation and discussion.
Students were highly engaged throughout the presentation, asking thoughtful questions and providing valuable feedback. The discussion emphasized that nursing offers a wide range of career fields and opportunities, allowing individuals to pursue areas that align with their interests and strengths.
Following the presentation, Mrs. Jones and the school expressed interest in having Courtney return in the spring to speak with another class, providing an additional opportunity to introduce students to healthcare careers and pathways within West Tennessee Healthcare.
