I'm Daniel Core, Founding Partner & CEO of Nexa Health Plans.

With over 10 years of experience in the health insurance industry, I've had the privilege of helping individuals, families, and businesses navigate the ever-changing world of healthcare coverage.

But the story behind Nexa is a little different.

We didn't set out to create another health plan. We set out to solve a problem.

Membership. MEC. Major medical.

These terms are not interchangeable. A membership service can provide selected benefits without being insurance. Minimum Essential Coverage (MEC) is a specific ACA designation; it is not a promise that every possible medical service is covered. Major-medical insurance has its own contract, benefits and exclusions.

Nexa describes Silver as a non-insurance membership that does not meet MEC. Its plan information describes Gold and Platinum as intended to meet MEC under their plan documents.
