✨ Welcome to the official launch of Healing Place! ✨Meet our founder, Lorraine “Lorena” Guerrero Neumayer, MSW, LCSW, CADC, PEL.

Lorraine is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Senior Trauma Therapist with more than 20 years of experience serving children, families, and communities impacted by trauma. Born and raised in Joliet, IL and a survivor of childhood trauma, her career has spanned schools, community agencies, and the justice system, giving her a deep and compassionate understanding of how trauma affects individuals and systems alike. She serves on the National Association of Social Workers - Illinois Chapter Board as the at-large representative. Lorraine is also an elected official serving her third term as a school board member.

Through Healing Place, Lorraine provides trauma-focused therapy for children, teens, and adults, speaking engagements that educate communities and professionals about trauma and resilience, clinical supervision for pre- and post-licensure professionals, and consulting to help organizations become trauma-informed.

Healing is not for the weak.

It takes strength to recognize your own pain, camouflaged as anger, denial, negative self-talk, avoidance, detachment, and victimhood.

If you don't recognize and take ownership of your own thoughts, emotions, and actions, who is owning you?

Who governs you?

Step into your sovereignty.

Soften, listen, stay grounded, and connected to SELF and source.

Don't give away your power. Your greatest act of DEFIANCE against the powers holding you captive is to heal and care for yourself.

Nourish, sleep, hydrate, move, set boundaries, and care for yourself. No one is going to this for you.

If you need help, ask, research, investigate, be curious, and open to the possibility that you don't know what you don't know.

Knowing what you know now, Self Care is no longer a choice.
