Just like taking out the trash, cleaning the bathroom, changing a lightbulb, or switching the TV remote’s batteries, carbon monoxide (CO) alarms require routine upkeep so that they work correctly in your home. To make sure your CO alarms are keeping your home safe, test them monthly and replace batteries when they are low.

The new school year is right around the corner, and school buses are the safest way for students to travel. Teach your children school bus safety rules and practice with them:

🚌Go to the bus stop with your child to teach them the proper way to get on and off the bus.

🚌Teach your children to stand 6 feet (or three giant steps) away from the curb.

🚌If your child must cross the street in front of the bus, teach him or her to walk on the side of the road until they are 10 feet ahead of the bus; your child and the bus driver should always be able to see each other.

Dehydration can occur in anyone who doesn't drink enough water during hot weather, but the condition is more serious for infants and children. If it's too hot to play outside, www.ready.gov/kids offers plenty of games and activities that will help children learn and prepare for emergencies as they play!
