Our residents took a trip through our very own “car wash” sprinkler system, and there were plenty of smiles, laughs, and splashes along the way! 🚿😎 Sometimes the best summer memories are made by getting a little wet and having a whole lot of fun.

Low Country Boil Family Night! 🌽🦞🥔🦐

We brought a taste of the Low Country to Baysmont House for our monthly Family Night! Bibs were tied, wet wipes were ready, and everyone dug into a delicious spread of crawfish, potatoes, corn on the cob, and plenty of tasty sides. ❤️

Of course, we saved room for dessert! Cheesecake, red velvet cupcakes, and fresh fruit made for the perfect sweet ending to a wonderful evening spent together.

A big thank you to our incredible staff for making another Family Night so special for our residents and their loved ones. We love creating opportunities to gather around the table, share some laughs, and make memories together!

💪 Movement, smiles, and a whole lot of fun at Baysmont House!

Our residents enjoyed a special exercise session brought to us by our friends at the YMCA! It was wonderful to see everyone getting involved, staying active, and enjoying some movement together. 🙌

We’re so thankful for community partners who help us bring engaging and meaningful wellness opportunities to our residents. Thank you, YMCA, for spending time with us and keeping Baysmont House moving! ❤️

We brought a little taste of the islands to Kingsport today with our Luau Social Hour! From tropical treats and festive drinks to plenty of laughter and good company, our residents and guests had a wonderful afternoon enjoying a little island-inspired fun. 🌺🍹

🦋 Butterflies, blooms & a very talented eye behind the camera! 📸

If you’ve spent any time with Asbury Place resident Nancy V. Knight, you probably know that she has a special love for butterflies — and a knack for capturing their beauty through her camera!

We were so excited to see Nancy’s beautiful photography recently featured in the Kingsport Times-News, showcasing several of the butterflies she has photographed right here at Asbury Place. From swallowtails and monarchs to fritillaries and skippers, Nancy has an incredible eye for spotting some of the smallest and most beautiful visitors to our campus.

Her photos are especially meaningful because butterflies are a special part of life at Asbury Place. Our campus is home to a certified Monarch Waystation, where our butterfly garden provides milkweed, nectar plants and habitat to help support monarchs and other pollinators throughout their life cycle and migration. 🌸🦋

Nancy’s feature is such a wonderful example of what we love about our community — residents continuing to enjoy their passions, share their talents and find inspiration right outside their own doors.

There’s nothing quite like an ice cream sundae to brighten an afternoon—especially when it’s shared with friends. We’re so grateful for our community partners who take the time to create these sweet moments with our residents.

🧵 A Stitch in Time: Celebrating the Talents of Frances Whilden 🪡

We have some incredibly talented people who call Asbury Place home, and resident Frances Whilden recently gave us the opportunity to celebrate one of her remarkable gifts—quilt making!

We hosted a special quilt show featuring Frances’ beautiful collection, with pieces ranging from intricate hand-sewn quilts to festive holiday designs and everything in between. But the real treat was hearing Frances share the history, stories, and memories behind each quilt as we admired her handiwork.

Her talent has certainly been recognized beyond our walls, too! Frances has earned several awards for her quilts over the years, and one of her creations even made its way to the stage as part of a production at Barter Theatre. 🎭

Each stitch represents hours of patience, creativity, and love, and we were honored to spend an afternoon celebrating Frances and the beautiful pieces she has created throughout the years.

Our group recently enjoyed an outing to the highly requested Ridgewood Barbecue, and judging by the turnout, it’s easy to see why this one was at the top of the list! Great food, great company, and plenty of smiles made for a wonderful afternoon together.

🎉 30 Years of Dedicated Service! 🎉

Today we’re celebrating two incredible members of the Asbury Place family whose combined 30 years of service have helped shape our community into what it is today!

💙 Melissa Crouch is celebrating 19 years with Asbury Place.
💙 Cecilia Morales recently celebrated 11 years with our community.

Throughout their time here, both Melissa and Cecilia have worn many different hats, serving in a variety of roles and always stepping up wherever they’re were needed. Their dedication, flexibility, and commitment to excellence have made a lasting impact on our residents, their families, and our team.

They consistently go above and beyond, embodying The Asbury Way through their compassion, teamwork, and servant hearts. We are incredibly grateful for everything they do to keep our community running strong each and every day.
