🦋💗 BUTTERFLIES FOR DOLLY 💗🦋
Like so many people in Tennessee and far beyond, I grew up knowing Dolly as so much more than a musician. She has been such a huge part of our home, our culture, and our community, and I wanted to find a small way to honor the incredible legacy she leaves behind.
As someone who is also an avid reader, choosing Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library felt especially meaningful to me. Books have always been such a huge source of comfort, creativity, imagination, and escape in my own life, and I absolutely love that one of Dolly’s greatest legacies is helping children experience that same magic from such a young age.
So I created Butterflies for Dolly, a collection of Dolly-inspired butterfly designs that can be tattooed here in Tennessee OR commissioned as artwork from anywhere.
📚 FOR TATTOO APPOINTMENTS
For every butterfly from this collection that I tattoo between August 28 and September 30, $31 will be donated to Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library.
The $31 isn’t random. Approximately $31 can provide an entire year of Imagination Library books for one child, with a new book delivered to their home each month.
So, in a way, every butterfly tattooed can help give one child an entire year of stories.
Each design can be personalized with your choice of linework, shading, color, and other small details depending on the design.
And because SO many of you told me you wished you lived closer so you could participate, I decided this fundraiser shouldn’t be limited to Tennessee.

Every butterfly in the collection is also available as a commissioned piece of artwork.
📱 Digital Commission
I’ll create your personalized version of the butterfly and deliver the finished artwork digitally. You can keep it as artwork, use it personally, or take it to a tattoo artist near you to have it tattooed.
Digital commissions will also include a written permission letter from me authorizing another tattoo artist to tattoo the commissioned artwork on the purchaser.
💌 Physical Print Commission
If you’d rather have something you can hold onto, I can also turn your finished butterfly into a physical art print and mail it directly to you.
Commissioned pieces can be customized just like the tattoo versions, so your butterfly can still feel like yours, even if you’re hundreds of miles away.
💗 And most importantly, the commissions are part of the fundraiser too.
$31 from each completed tattoo or commissioned butterfly will be added to the donation pool.
I’ll be keeping track of everything throughout the fundraiser and will make one collective donation on October 1st, with the final total and donation confirmation shared afterward.
Whether you’re sitting in my tattoo chair here in Tennessee, taking your butterfly to an artist in another state, or hanging your artwork on your wall, you can be part of this with me.
I genuinely did not expect this collection to receive the amount of love that it has, especially from people who aren’t anywhere near me. Opening the artwork commissions felt like the perfect way to let more people participate while still creating something special and personal for each of you.
If a few butterflies can put a few more books into little hands, I can’t think of a better way to honor her.
