Here We GROW Again! 💙💚

Lake Forest Pediatrics is thrilled to introduce TWO new pediatricians — Dr. Samantha Bailey and Dr. Rachel Santoro — joining the practice that has delivered outstanding, high quality, compassionate pediatric care to the families of our communities since 1969.

Meet Dr. Samantha Bailey 🌟 Trained at the University of Michigan, Midwestern University, and the University of Chicago, Dr. Bailey has known she wanted to be a pediatrician since she was a child. She has a special love for newborn care and for the three-to-five year olds just finding their voices — and she chose us because this is the practice she had always hoped to join.

Meet Dr. Rachel Santoro 🌟 Trained at the University of Pennsylvania, Northwestern's Feinberg School of Medicine, and Vanderbilt, Dr. Santoro grew up right here in Chicagoland — and she came home to care for the communities that raised her. She is passionate about newborn care and lactation support, and about walking alongside families from the very first checkup to the college send-off.

They are our 15th and 16th pediatricians, and that growth is a promise: as the communities we serve grow, we grow with them — so every family who calls on us finds convenient access to a physician-owned practice devoted to family-centered, innovative care.

Since 1969, generations of families have grown up in our care. Dr. Bailey and Dr. Santoro are the next chapter of that story — and some of the babies they meet this fall will one day bring children of their own through our doors.

Welcome, Dr. Bailey. Welcome home, Dr. Santoro.

We are Lake Forest Pediatrics.

A fever can be worrying, but the number on the thermometer is only one part of the picture. 🌡️

How your child is breathing, drinking, responding, and behaving can also help determine when they need medical attention.

Some warning signs, including difficulty breathing, severe dehydration, seizures, or trouble waking, require immediate care. Babies under 3 months with a temperature of 100.4°F or higher also need prompt medical evaluation.

Our latest article explains what parents should know about childhood fevers and when to seek help.

“Just one more story!” 📖
“One more drink of water!” 💧
“I’m not tired!” 😴

If bedtime feels like a nightly negotiation, there may be more behind your child’s resistance than simply not wanting to sleep.

Overstimulation, separation anxiety, being overtired, inconsistent routines, and even the bedroom environment can all make settling down more difficult.

Our recent article shares practical ways parents can help create calmer, more predictable bedtime routines.

For many families, bedtime feels less like a restful routine and more like a never-ending negotiation. If your child resists sleep, stalls endlessly, or has frequent meltdowns, you’re not alone. Bedtime struggles have likely existed as long as children themselves, and they don’t mean you’re do...
