Tiffaney Maggio, Ashley Lafleur, and Baylee Guillory of Complexions volunteered their time and talent to provide makeup for cancer survivors at the Memorial Cancer Gala, helping these incredible women feel celebrated, confident, and beautiful for such a special evening. 🎀✨

What makes this even more meaningful is the knowledge and care behind what they do. Tiffaney is the first Oncology Certified Aesthetician in Lake Charles and has taken the extra steps to understand the unique skincare needs of those going through or recovering from cancer treatment. Complexions also carries a full line of oncology-approved skincare products, giving clients access to products selected with their sensitive and changing skin needs in mind.

This is exactly why I’m so proud share a space with Complexions. Expertise, compassion, and a genuine heart for taking care of people. 💕

Will I Bruise?

Bruising is a normal event anytime a needle is injected into your skin.

One of the most common questions I hear before filler, PRF, or other injectable treatments is: “Will I bruise?”

The honest answer is: maybe.

Your face contains hundreds of tiny blood vessels just beneath the skin. Even with careful technique and a thorough knowledge of facial anatomy, a needle can occasionally nick a vessel and cause bruising. Sometimes it’s a tiny pinpoint bruise that only you notice. Other times, it can look like the photo above.

That’s why I always recommend scheduling injectable treatments at least 2 weeks before any major event, vacation, wedding, reunion, or photo session.

While bruising can’t be completely prevented, you can help reduce your risk by:
✔ Avoiding alcohol 24–48 hours before treatment
✔ Avoiding blood-thinning supplements and medications when medically appropriate and approved by your physician
✔ Staying well hydrated
✔ Following all pre- and post-treatment instructions
✔ Choosing an experienced injector with a strong understanding of facial anatomy

The good news? Bruises heal. Beautiful results last much longer.
