How do you sauna?
Sauna- my greatest super power even in the Indian Summer months.
I typically start with two quarts of water, take a dose of glutathione, then a pinch of Baja Salt. I will wrap on a castor oil pack. Do some lymphatic drainage. Look at the scattered leaves on my patio, listen to the crickets, put on my sauna cap (protects my hair from the heat and keeps my head temp lower so I can stay in longer—- yes it’s mushrooms and it came off Etsy). I may read a book. I may just think. But goal is to go until my body says enough- some days it’s 60 minutes at 120, some days it’s 20 minutes at 140. I listen to my body. Then I jump in the cold plunge for 4 minutes (the trick is to keep your hands out of water, focus on breathing, and don’t wiggle). I try to sauna three times a week and get a good sweat on, cold plunge no more than twice a week to maintain healthy cortisol- it’s my rhythm. 🙂
An outdoor sauna costs around $1500-$2000. It snaps together with guitar box hinges and plugs directly into an outlet. Nothing fancy required.
The indoor sauna I have at the clinic was about $1300 and the same thing. 6 panels with snap hinges and plugs into a regular outlet.
One I bought off eBay brand new and one off amazon….
Take a quick google search on the benefits of sauna and heat shock proteins. ❤️ it might just make you feel better. I know it does me.
