Most people are trying to lose weight while still building their meals around refined carbs like pasta and rice, then wondering why they’re always hungry again. I’ve found that when you shift the foundation of your plate to fiber-rich vegetables and anchor it with protein, everything changes—fullness, energy, blood sugar stability, and consistency. In just 10 minutes, I prep cabbage and carrot noodles that become the base for my meals all week, making healthy eating simple, sustainable, and actually enjoyable. These bases go well with Asian, Italian, Mexican or middle eastern cuisine! You’ll never get bored 🥱

The goal was never to eliminate chocolate or label certain foods as “good” or “bad.” Although, I think some food is bad for you😆 anyway…will I get canceled for speaking the truth!!?? I don’t care…moving on.

The real question is whether we’re asking food to meet needs it was never designed to meet. Many of us reach for food when we’re stressed, overwhelmed, lonely, exhausted, or seeking comfort. This becomes an addictive habit. While food can nourish us and be enjoyed as a gift from God, it cannot provide the peace, healing, security, or fulfillment that our hearts ultimately long for.

In my work as the Wellness OT, I’ve found that lasting health is about far more than calories or weight loss. True transformation happens when we learn to care for our physical health while also addressing the emotional, relational, and spiritual burdens we carry. When we stop looking to food, busyness, or other distractions to soothe our deepest struggles and begin bringing them to Christ, we experience a freedom that no diet can offer. The problem isn’t the chocolate—it’s expecting it to do what only God can do.

There is nothing unhealthy about taking up space in your natural form. There is nothing unfeminine about fullness, texture, roots, ancestry, culture, curves, noise, or presence.

For example, my curls connect me to a rich heritage, ancient roots, resilience, creativity, survival, beauty, and collective memory. And the more I embraced every part of myself — mind, body, spirit, culture, voice, hair — the more whole I am becoming…. This isn’t just about the hair itself but about embracing ourselves as women without apologizing for the space we take up. Even if we’re not happy with our health or body shape right now, we can still love ourselves enough to still show up and take up space, laugh, eat, move, dance, and simply be…. Self love and acceptance are key to transformation. 🔑

Real wellness is not becoming smaller to fit someone else’s standard. Real wellness is finally feeling free enough to be fully yourself.

Sometimes I buy ice cream though! It’s not an all or nothing type of thing. My all time favorite is cookies and cream 🤤

Creamy Strawberry-Multiberry Frozen Ice Cream 🍓🫐🍌
Ingredients
1½ cups frozen strawberries
1 cup frozen mixed berries/blueberries
1 frozen banana
⅓ cup coconut milk
2–3 tbsp heavy cream
1–2 tsp honey or maple syrup (optional)
½ tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp lemon juice
Tiny pinch of sea salt

Instructions
Add to Nutribullet:
coconut milk
heavy cream
vanilla
lemon juice
sweetener (if using)
Add frozen fruit on top.
Blend slowly until thick and creamy.
If too thick, add a SMALL splash of coconut milk.
Taste and adjust:
more lemon = brighter flavor
more vanilla = dessert flavor
more cream = creamy consistency (duh lol)
tiny salt pinch = enhances sweetness
Pour into a bread pan.
Freeze about 2 hours for a scoopable ice cream texture.
Let sit 5–10 minutes before scooping if too firm.

When the going gets tough… the tough get going!! I’ve been so exhausted lately (my whole body shows it), but not letting that ruin my daily workout routine or break my spirit. I’m gonna offer what is honest and what I’m able to offer to the Lord—He will rightly divide and bless the efforts…. I don’t workout when I feel good, I workout to feel good (and sane). This is one of the greatest gifts to ourselves, especially if life has been hard lately.

Physical discipline is spiritual discipline!
