The Arc of Loudoun

The Arc of Loudoun The Arc of Loudoun is a lifelong partner for people with disabilities and their families, providing services, education, advocacy, and therapy.

We serve as a regional hub for support through three Centers of Excellence, reaching 5,000+ people each year. Founded in 1967, The Arc of Loudoun advocates for, educates, serves, and supports people with disabilities and their families, serving more than 7,000 people each year including people with disabilities, their families, caregivers, educators, advocates; Arc volunteers; Veterans; members of

the law enforcement, first responder and judicial system communities. At The Arc of Loudoun, we believe in creating a just and equitable world for people with disabilities—and we work toward that goal every day through our three core centers:

Ability Fitness Center – Promoting strength and mobility through fitness-based therapy
ALLY Advocacy Center – Empowering individuals and families through advocacy and support
The Aurora School – Providing specialized education for students with developmental disabilities

With more than 24,000 people with disabilities in Loudoun County, our work is far from done. But with your support, we can continue building a more inclusive community—one where everyone belongs.

It's back-to-school season, and while learning never really stops here at Aurora School, there's still something special about this time of year! 🍎

We're so grateful for the families, staff, and students who make our community what it is. Every day, we're proud to provide individualized, quality education for our students — because everyone deserves the chance to grow at their own pace, in their own way.

As a new school year begins, learn how the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) helps students with disabilities to learn alongside their peers and access the education they deserve.

As conversations about the future of special education continue, it's more important than ever to understand what IDEA does and why it matters.

“Resilience, perseverance and determination are three words the Arc of Loudoun’s CEO Lisa Max uses to describe the past year.”

We were grateful to have Karen Graham from the Loudoun Times-Mirror visit us a year after our move, sharing how we have remained focused on our mission and how we continue to make an impact every day supporting people with disabilities and their families.

Thank you to everyone for supporting us - and our community!

Resilience, perseverance and determination are three words the Arc of Loudoun’s CEO Lisa Max uses to describe the past year.
