The Arc of Loudoun

The Arc of Loudoun The Arc of Loudoun is a lifelong partner for people with disabilities and their families, providing services, education, advocacy, and therapy.
(1)

We serve as a regional hub for support through three Centers of Excellence, reaching 5,000+ people each year. Founded in 1967, The Arc of Loudoun advocates for, educates, serves, and supports people with disabilities and their families, serving more than 7,000 people each year including people with disabilities, their families, caregivers, educators, advocates; Arc volunteers; Veterans; members of

the law enforcement, first responder and judicial system communities. At The Arc of Loudoun, we believe in creating a just and equitable world for people with disabilities—and we work toward that goal every day through our three core centers:

Ability Fitness Center – Promoting strength and mobility through fitness-based therapy
ALLY Advocacy Center – Empowering individuals and families through advocacy and support
The Aurora School – Providing specialized education for students with developmental disabilities

With more than 24,000 people with disabilities in Loudoun County, our work is far from done. But with your support, we can continue building a more inclusive community—one where everyone belongs.

Congratulations to our 2026 Beth Mills Service Award Winner, John Walsh!

John Walsh, Vice President and General Manager of The National Conference Center, invited The Arc to explore NCC as a potential home, and we signed a lease to move Ability Fitness Center into its wonderful space in August 2025. When faced with the urgent need just a week after that to relocate Aurora School, John immediately stepped in to make a home for the school. From that moment on, John has fully embodied “going above and beyond” to support The Arc’s mission. His radical hospitality has ensured that our students and clients continued to receive the critical services they needed, with minimal interruption, throughout the past year. Thank you John!

Thank you Governor of Virginia for signing HB 37! By removing the sunset date, this legislation permanently protects families and individuals with developmental disabilities from losing their critical Medicaid waiver eligibility if their SSDI payments exceed the standard monthly SSI limit. We value your support in working towards a just, equitable world for people with disabilities!

Join us THIS Saturday, June 13th from 10:00 am to 12:30 pm to practice traffic stops, touch a truck, and enjoy free Hershey’s ice cream at the Loudoun Safety Fair!

The Loudoun Safety Fair hosted by The Arc of Loudoun is an interactive event designed to help people of all ages and their families engage with first responders and prepare for real-world situations. Practice Traffic Stops offers an opportunity for new and more experienced drivers to engage with law enforcement to “practice” how to navigate a traffic stop or an accident.

Don’t miss this opportunity to learn safety skills and connect with community resources!
