Our team tabled at the annual Autism Acceptance Day held by Knoebels Amusement Resort this weekend. We are excited to share that Christopher R. Bugaj will be our keynote speaker for Day Two of Includi-Con 2026!

Christopher R. Bugaj, MA CCC‐SLP is a founding member of the Assistive Technology Team for Loudoun County Public Schools and is currently the district’s Assistive Technology Specialist. He is also a podcast host and author.

His presentation, titled "Simple Shifts to Design and Deliver Awesome Educational Experiences for Everyone", will show how small shifts in instruction can focus educators’ efforts on using the most frequently used accommodations as a guide to offer options for all during first instruction. He will then share commonly available tech that can be used to provide those options.

We are thrilled to announce that Adriana Lebrón White will be our keynote speaker for Day One of Includi-Con 2026!

Her session, titled “Celebrating Who We Are: How Stories & Culture Foster a Sense of Belonging”, will explore what else we can do to make sure our disabled students feel like a crucial part of the community beyond accommodations and inclusive language. A self-advocate will share how storytelling can build a culture of acceptance - one where students feel safe to be their remarkable, authentic selves.

The Arc of Pennsylvania is seeking a qualified researcher or research organization to conduct an evaluation of the data collection tools and processes currently used in the Include Me (IM) initiative. The mission of IM is to develop, support, and enhance disability inclusive practices across Pennsylvania. We partner with school districts to create a comprehensive plan that meets the unique needs of the district, teachers and families.

The project can commence on September 1, 2026 and must be completed by November 1, 2026. Submission deadline is July 31, 2026 at 3:00 p.m.

Last Friday, our Philly team had the opportunity to table at the PHLAbilities Celebration at The School District of Philadelphia. Students were able to participate in a sensory garden, read books, use sensory tools in a calming corner, contribute their thoughts to a paper chain about inclusion, and build Lego sculptures of a place where they feel safe and relaxed.
