Thank you!
To all the moms who are here, who were here, and who are to come and become moms.
To the moms who birthed children, to the moms who foster kids, adopted kids, took in kids, and chose to love, care for, and nurture them.
To the women who care for and nurture their furry babies and other living beings they love and take responsibility for.
Thank you to moms for your love, your care, your nurturing, your support, and your presence.
I also want to honor the children and people who lost their moms. I can’t imagine how painful, heavy, sad, or grief-filled today may feel for some of you. I want to honor your love for your moms, your memories with them, and the missing of them today.
I want to honor moms who do not feel celebrated today. Moms who feel forgotten, unseen, unappreciated, or left out. You are loved, appreciated, and deserving of gratitude even if someone externally does not validate that for you through gifts, words, or attention.
I also want to honor moms who lost children, moms who experienced miscarriages, and women who wanted to become moms or only experienced motherhood for a short moment before loss entered their life. I can only imagine how difficult today may feel.
And to the moms who do not feel celebratory, happy, or spunky today—you are welcome to feel however you feel today. Whatever emotions are present for you today are valid.
I also want to express gratitude for being a mom and for having an incredible daughter who graced my life with her presence and allowed me to experience motherhood.
And thank you to my mom for bringing me into this world and doing her best to love me, care for me, and support me in becoming the woman I am today.
Sending love to all moms and all hearts today.
