Compassion Works for All We live out the principles of compassion in order to liberate those associated with the prison system from suffering in all its forms. Make a difference!!

CWFA offers healing and hope through compassionate actions, advocacy, and teaching for the disenfranchised, marginalized, and all those affected by America’s prison system. We work toward a world in which communities and institutions ensure that everyone can thrive and no one is forgotten. Since 1993, Compassion Works for All has evolved from the prison counseling efforts of Anna Cox, ACSW. Her ye

ars of one-on-one inmate visits and meditation/counseling groups led to Dharma Friends, a spiritually supportive newsletter mailed to prisoners around the country. In 2005, Compassion Works for All, Inc., 501(c)(3) became active with many dedicated volunteers and individual donors. Now, thanks to all our supporters, we are growing exponentially. Compassion Works for All PROGRAMS:

Mindfulness-based classes are held at various jail, prison, reentry, and recovery centers in Arkansas on a weekly basis. Dharma Friends Newsletter is sent to over 3,600 inmates in all fifty states. Contemplative sessions on compassion are offered twice monthly in the community through a partnership with CALS. Prison chaplaincy outreach offers free support materials to chaplains in every federal and state prison in the country. Prisoner support services sends welcome packets, personal letters and books to prisoners in every state. We plant seeds of transformation in the criminal justice system with writings, teachings, lectures and videos. We are dedicated to the transformation of society's views on prisons. We educate the public on the root causes of crime and violence - and how to heal them by developing materials offering thoughts on the causes of the journey to prison, highlighting healing interventions to encourage and vote for a transformation of the criminal justice system.
