Some of the most meaningful stories we hear come from family members watching someone they love finally begin to heal.

When a wound becomes infected or refuses to improve, it can affect far more than physical health. It can impact comfort, confidence, independence, and quality of life.

We're grateful Deanna trusted our Southwest San Antonio team to care for her husband during an important time in his healing journey. Hearing that our staff helped put their family at ease means just as much to us as the clinical outcome.

Thank you for your kind words and for allowing us to be part of your family's care.

The people who dedicate their lives to serving others deserve a community that shows up for them, too.

That’s one of the reasons we’re proud to support Victory For Veterans and the upcoming Heroes & High Rollers Casino Night on June 13.

Every day, we have the privilege of caring for veterans and first responders throughout our community. We see firsthand the strength, sacrifice, and resilience they carry with them long after their service ends.

This event helps support programs and resources that continue serving those who have spent their lives serving others.

We’re honored to stand alongside Victory For Veterans and the many community members who are helping to make a difference.

For Wound Healing Awareness Month, we’re starting with Elizabeth’s story. A reminder that healing is about more than treatment, it’s about feeling safe, informed, and supported through every step.

Elizabeth shared how our team explained the HBOT process before she began, helped ease her nerves, and made each visit feel comfortable and familiar.

For patients facing a wound or tissue injury that isn’t healing, that kind of care matters.

Thank you, Elizabeth, for trusting us with your healing journey and allowing others to hear your story. πŸ’š

Sometimes the most important part of a patient’s journey is the very first conversation. πŸ’š

For many people, that call comes after weeks, months, or even years of dealing with a wound that isn’t improving. They’re looking for answers, reassurance, and a clear path forward.

That’s why our team is committed to making every patient feel welcomed, heard, and supported from the very first phone call.

Whether you're scheduling an appointment, asking questions about treatment, or simply trying to understand your options, we're here to help guide you every step of the way.

If you or a loved one is struggling with a non-healing wound, know that you don't have to navigate it alone.

As Hyperbaric Medicine Awareness Month comes to a close, we want to recognize the people who make the experience what it is for our patients.

Our hyperbaric technicians are there for every step of the journey, from the first treatment to the last. They answer questions, provide reassurance, celebrate progress, and build relationships that often last long after treatment is complete.

For many patients, these faces become part of their daily routine. They know their stories, remember where they left off in their favorite show, movie, or podcast, and make every visit feel a little more comfortable.

While Hyperbaric Medicine Awareness Month helps shine a light on the therapy itself, we know the experience is about more than the technology. It’s about the people behind it.

To our HBOT team: thank you for the compassion, professionalism, and dedication you bring to our patients and their families every day. Your impact reaches far beyond the chamber.

Last month, our team had the opportunity to spend time with seniors, families, caregivers, and community members at the Texas Senior Expo here in San Antonio.

One of the most important conversations we have is helping people understand when a wound may need more advanced care. Many patients live with non-healing wounds, swelling, pain, or skin changes longer than they should, often thinking it’s something they simply have to live with.

That’s why events like this matter.

They give people the opportunity to ask questions, learn about advanced wound care and hyperbaric medicine, and better understand when it may be time to seek specialized care.

We’re grateful for every conversation, every story shared, and every opportunity to help someone feel more informed, supported, and hopeful about healing.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by to meet our team. We’re proud to continue serving San Antonio with physician-led specialty care focused on helping patients move forward.

Today, we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country.

Their sacrifice, courage, and commitment will never be forgotten.

From all of us at Hill Country Wound Care & Hyperbarics, we wish our patients, families, veterans, and community a meaningful Memorial Day as we reflect with gratitude on those who made our freedoms possible. πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

Radiation treatment can save lives, but for some patients, bladder symptoms can continue long after treatment ends.

Frequent urination, urgency, pain, pressure, or bleeding may be signs of radiation cystitis, a condition caused by radiation damage to healthy bladder tissue.

Many patients live with these symptoms for months or even years without realizing treatment options may exist.

During Hyperbaric Medicine Awareness Month, we want to help raise awareness about hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) and the role it may play in supporting tissue recovery and quality of life for certain patients with radiation cystitis.

At Hill Country, our physician-led team takes the time to listen, evaluate symptoms, and help patients understand whether HBOT may be appropriate as part of their care plan.

For many patients, awareness is the first step toward improving quality of life.

Healing doesn’t always happen on the surface.

During Hyperbaric Medicine Awareness Month, we’re helping patients better understand how hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) supports recovery from the inside out.

Inside the chamber, patients breathe concentrated oxygen under pressure, helping deliver oxygen deeper into damaged tissue to support the body’s natural healing process for certain chronic wounds, radiation injuries, and other hard-to-heal conditions.

But just as important as the treatment itself is the experience around it. At Hill Country, patients are guided every step of the way by a physician-led team focused on safety, comfort, and compassionate care throughout each session.

For many patients, learning that options may exist is the first step forward.

Being part of the healthcare community means more than caring for patients inside our clinics. It means working alongside others across San Antonio to help improve care for the people who call this city home.

Last month, Chief Medical Officer Dr. Michael Cascio and CEO Joe DiRenzo joined healthcare leaders from across the region through the Greater San Antonio Chamber of Commerce Healthcare Council to discuss the social determinants of health and their impact on our community.

We’re proud to be part of the Chamber’s Healthcare Council and grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with others working toward stronger access, better outcomes, and a healthier San Antonio.
