What a day at the East Texas Senior Games!

Home-Aid Caregivers was proud to co-sponsor this incredible event at Maude Cobb Convention Center, where senior living communities from across East Texas came together for a day of fun, friendly competition, and unforgettable memories.

One of the highlights? Watching a 103-year-young competitor win her race and remind us all that determination never grows old.

šŸ… What an incredible day at the East Texas Senior Games at Maude Cobb Convention Center in Longview! šŸ…

Home-Aid Caregivers was honored to serve as a co-sponsor for this special event hosted by the East Texas Silver Citizens Coalition.

Senior living communities from across East Texas came together for a day filled with friendly competition, teamwork, creativity, and community spirit. From themed team costumes and decorations to races, games, dancing, and awards, the day was filled with laughter, encouragement, and unforgettable moments.

One of the most inspiring moments of the day was watching a remarkable 103-year-young participant cross the finish line and win her race. Her determination, joy, and competitive spirit reminded everyone in attendance that age is truly just a number.

Throughout the event, residents cheered one another on, celebrated accomplishments, and proudly represented their communities. Events like these showcase the importance of staying active, engaged, connected, and involved at every stage of life.

We are grateful to the East Texas Silver Citizens Coalition, fellow sponsors, volunteers, caregivers, and participating communities for making this incredible event possible. Most importantly, congratulations to all of the residents who competed and inspired us with their enthusiasm, resilience, and sportsmanship.

šŸŒø Home-Bloom Dementia Pathway: PINK PETAL Pathway Video Series ā€” Week 1: Pace Yourself šŸŒø

As part of Alzheimerā€™s & Brain Awareness Month, Home-Aid Caregivers is proud to share the first installment of our weekly dementia education video series created by Tiffany Clements, C.D.S.

This weekā€™s focus is Pace Yourself, the first petal of the PINK PETAL Pathway, a foundational tool within Home-Aid Caregiversā€™ proprietary Home-Bloom Dementia Pathway.

When caring for someone living with Alzheimerā€™s disease or another form of dementia, our pace matters. Rushing, correcting, arguing, or overwhelming a person can increase fear, confusion, and distress. Learning to slow down, offer reassurance, and move at their pace can help create moments of safety, trust, and connection.

In this video, Tiffany shares practical insights and compassionate strategies to help caregivers better understand how pacing can impact communication, behaviors, and quality of life.

šŸ’ New PINK PETAL Pathway videos will be released every Tuesday throughout June, with each week exploring a different petal and practical tools for providing compassionate, person-centered dementia care.

šŸŒø Twice-Monthly Virtual "Ask a Dementia Care Specialist" Live Q&A Sessions where families and caregivers can receive guidance, education, and answers to their dementia-related questions.

šŸŒø Weekly Dementia Education Videos released every Tuesday throughout June, developed and presented by Tiffany Clements, C.D.S., and based on our newly developed Home-Bloom Dementia Pathway training program. Each week will focus on a different petal of the PINK PETAL Pathway, providing practical tools and compassionate approaches for supporting individuals living with dementia.

šŸŒø Dementia Support Groups Facilitated Across East Texas offering connection, encouragement, education, and community for caregivers and families.

šŸŒø Educational Talks and Discussions Across East Texas focused on dementia awareness, understanding brain changes, communication strategies, caregiving approaches, and practical tools to better support those living with Alzheimer's disease and related dementias.

Something meaningful is blooming this June at Home-Aid Caregivers. šŸ’

In honor of Alzheimerā€™s & Brain Awareness Month, Tiffany Clements, C.D.S. has created a weekly dementia education video series designed to bring understanding, compassion, practical tools, and support to caregivers, families, healthcare professionals, and our community.

This sneak peek is just the beginning.

Each weekly video throughout June will focus on a different ā€œpetalā€ of the PINK PETAL Pathway ā€” a foundational tool within Home-Aid Caregiversā€™ proprietary Home-Bloom Dementia Pathway training program. These educational segments will explore compassionate dementia care approaches centered around communication, emotional connection, dignity, behavioral understanding, safety, and trust.

Our hope is to help families and caregivers feel less alone while bringing greater awareness, education, and empathy to the realities of Alzheimerā€™s disease and other forms of dementia.

Follow along with us throughout June as we learn, grow, advocate, and support one another.

Throughout June, Home-Aid Caregivers is proud to provide free dementia education, support, and resources across East Texas in honor of Alzheimerā€™s & Brain Awareness Month.

From educational videos and caregiver support groups to community talks, trainings, and meaningful engagement opportunities, our goal is to help families feel supported, informed, and less alone on the dementia journey.

All June long, Tiffany Clements, C.D.S. ā€” Home-Aid Caregiversā€™ Care Program Development, Education, & Outreach Specialist and one of only 34 CARES Dementia Specialists in Texas ā€” will be leading these educational efforts throughout the community.

We invite caregivers, families, healthcare professionals, senior living communities, and anyone impacted by Alzheimerā€™s disease or other forms of dementia to follow along and take advantage of these free resources.

Today, we remember and honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

In observance of Memorial Day, our physical offices will be closed today, Monday, May 25th. However, we continue to be available for support and admissions today as we have been over the holiday weekend. Please call 903-533-1300 or email [email protected].

Amy Jackson serves as the Business Office Manager for Home-Aid Caregivers in Longview and has been part of the Home-Aid family since July 5, 2023 ā€” the very first day the Longview office opened its doors.

Born and raised in the Marshall/Woodlawn, Texas area, Amy has dedicated more than 30 years to serving others in the healthcare field. She began her career as a Nurseā€™s Assistant in 1994 and became certified in 1996. Over the years, she has continued to grow her experience and leadership, serving as a Group Home Manager for individuals with developmental disabilities while also becoming certified as a Medication Aide and Phlebotomist.

šŸ‘‘With more than 25 years of management experience, Amy brings compassion, leadership, and dedication to every aspect of her role. She oversees daily office operations, staffing, scheduling, onboarding, payroll, long-term care insurance claims, client support, supervisory visits, and so much more. Amy has truly helped operate the Longview office in every capacity since the very beginning.

ā€œWhat I love most about my job is building relationships with our clients and being able to help people during important seasons of life. I also enjoy learning new skills and adapting to the changing needs of our industry.ā€

A typical day for Amy includes supporting caregivers, assisting families and clients, conducting orientations, reviewing schedules, onboarding new employees, processing paperwork, and ensuring the Longview office continues to thrive with excellence and compassion.

Outside of work, Amy enjoys spending time with her family ā€” especially her grandchildren ā€” traveling, relaxing on the water, attending church, baking, cooking, and singing.

Fun fact: Amy loves coordinating outfits with her husband and grandkidsā€¦ and despite her calm professionalism, she says she can definitely be the life of the party. šŸŖ©

We are incredibly grateful for Amyā€™s heart, leadership, and dedication to the families, caregivers, and community we are honored to serve.
