🌸 PINK PETAL Pathway Video Series – Week 4: Adapt Creatively 🌸

One of the most powerful skills in dementia care is learning to see the world through someone else’s eyes.

What makes perfect sense to us may feel confusing, frightening, or overwhelming to a person living with dementia. When we step outside of our own box and become curious about their experience, we can often discover new ways to communicate, connect, and provide support.

This week’s PINK PETAL Pathway video explores Adapt Creatively—the ability to adjust our approach, our expectations, and our environment to meet the person where they are. Sometimes the key to success isn’t changing the person; it’s changing the way we respond.

When we learn to see through their eyes, we open the door to greater understanding, less frustration, and more meaningful moments of connection.

🌸 PINK PETAL Pathway Video Series – Week 3: Trust Before Task 🌸

Before we can provide care, we must first build trust and connection.

For a person living with dementia, a caregiver approaching too quickly, giving instructions, or focusing only on the task can feel confusing or overwhelming. When we take a moment to slow down, introduce ourselves, offer reassurance, and connect person-to-person, we create a foundation of trust that makes care easier and more successful.

This week’s PINK PETAL Pathway video explores Trust Before Task—the idea that relationships come before routines and connection comes before care. When trust is present, we can often reduce resistance, ease anxiety, and preserve dignity while accomplishing the task at hand.

What a wonderful afternoon we had at Buckner Westminster Place Assisted Living in Longview!

Home-Aid Caregivers was honored to help celebrate the June birthdays at Buckner with music, joy, and sweet treats. Mallory from Home-Aid Caregivers: Longview brought the birthday cake and served residents, and Tiffany sang an hour of favorite songs, including a special Father’s Day tribute with Daddy’s Hands and the birthday song to celebrate June birthdays for residents.

What a wonderful afternoon celebrating the June birthdays at Buckner Westminster Place Assisted Living in Longview!

Home-Aid Caregivers was honored to help make the celebration special. Mallory from Home-Aid Caregivers: Longview brought the birthday cake, and Tiffany gave an hour vocal concert for residents.

In honor of Father’s Day, Tiffany performed Daddy’s Hands, along with a variety of favorite songs and a special birthday serenade for the June honorees.

Thank you to the residents and staff for the warm welcome and sharing their birthday with us. We love being part of moments that bring joy, connection, and meaningful engagement to older adults throughout East Texas.

What a fun day we had at Autofest at Parkview on Hollybrook!
Congratulations to IL resident Jane M. who won the potted plant and guessed the exact number of cars in the jar!!!
