Community Clinic Association of Los Angeles County Representing LA County's non-profit community clinics and health centers that deliver cost-effective, high quality health care. www.ccalac.org

The Community Clinic Association of Los Angeles County (CCALAC) and our members share a common mission of supporting and expanding access to quality comprehensive health care for every individual. Specifically, CCALAC’s mission is to, β€œpromote free and community clinics as providers and advocates for expanding access to quality comprehensive health care for medically underserved people in Los Angeles County.”

Our vision is to, β€œadvance the health and human services of communities throughout Los Angeles County, creating a comprehensive health care system for underserved populations to help reduce health disparities in the county.”

HISTORY OF CCALAC

After the civil unrest in Los Angeles County in the 1990s, the LA-based National Health Foundation was seeking ways to increase access to primary medical care in poor neighborhoods. The Community Clinic Association of Los Angeles (CCALAC) was founded in 1994 as part of that project. In 1996, CCALAC obtained its IRS (501)(c)(3) tax exemption status. Since then, our organization has grown to be the largest regional association of community and free clinics in California.

Patient care takes a team. Doctors, nurses, clinical leaders and support staff all play a role in keeping California’s community health clinics running and patients cared for. Prop 44 puts critical staff and services at risk. Protect patients and community clinics.

πŸŽƒ Nothing's spookier than losing your Medi-Cal coverage!

This Halloween, Keep L.A. Covered is reminding Los Angeles County residents that while costumes, haunted houses, and scary movies might give you a fright, losing access to the health care you depend on shouldn't be one of them.

Medi-Cal isn't ending, but some important rules are changing beginning in 2027. Depending on your eligibility, these changes could affect how often you renew your coverage or what information you need to provide.

Prop 44 is opposed by hundreds of doctors, nurses, patients, community leaders and more because they understand the harm Prop 44 will cause. If passed, Prop 44 would force clinics to reduce services or close, leaving millions of patients without access to care.

πŸ‘‰ And the closing panel shared examples of how health IT teams can be the heroes of their organizations by using AI to make workflows easier for clinic staff.

Thank you to all our presenters for sharing their knowledge and expertise on the latest in health IT.

Special thanks to our generous sponsors, who made this event possible.
