The ceasefire may still exist on paper, but for families living in southern Lebanon, the reality is growing instability, fear, and uncertainty.

As military operations expand and more communities face evacuation orders, some of the region's oldest Christian villages find themselves increasingly vulnerable. These are communities that have endured centuries of conflict, preserving their faith and traditions in the land of their ancestors. When front lines move, it is often civilians who bear the greatest burden.

At VPP, we remain committed to standing with vulnerable Christian communities throughout the Middle East and ensuring their stories are not forgotten.

The world’s oldest Christian communities are facing immense pressure, and silence is not an option.

From Gaza to the West Bank and Lebanon, families who have preserved their faith, culture, and traditions for generations are struggling to remain in the lands of their ancestors. Their future depends not only on their resilience, but on whether people of influence and goodwill choose to stand with them.

As Jason Jones reminds us:

“If they are erased and we remained silent, we will share responsibility for that loss.”
At VPP, we believe every person is created with inherent dignity and worth. We are committed to defending vulnerable communities, amplifying their voices, and ensuring they are not forgotten.

Silence allows suffering to spread.

Indifference gives injustice room to thrive.

But when we choose to see—and to act—everything changes.

At the Vulnerable People Project, we refuse to look away. We stand with the vulnerable, speak for the voiceless, and move toward those in need.

Ceasefires that do not hold. Children taken from classrooms. Christians punished for their faith. Here is the truth from six regions:

Gaza: Israeli soldiers call the ceasefire "a joke" as the death toll surpasses 72,000.

Lebanon: 11 children killed or wounded every day while ceasefire negotiations continue in Washington.

West Bank: Israeli forces attempted to shut down a permitted Catholic festival in Taybeh, the last entirely Christian village in the region.

Nigeria: 46 hostages from the Oriire school abductions remain in captivity, including a two-year-old child.

Sudan: RSF forces killed 27 civilians during Eid al-Adha while churches continue to be destroyed across the country.

India: 180 Christian families across 32 villages are being denied water as punishment for refusing to renounce their faith.

Taybeh, Palestine is the last entirely Christian town in the West Bank. And its people are still here, still faithful, still standing.

Jason Jones talks with Father Bashar Fawadleh, a Palestinian Catholic priest who has watched his community face settler violence, displacement, and uncertainty — yet chooses to remain rooted in faith.

As Taybeh prepared for the Marian Festival, Father Bashar shared why preserving the Christian presence in the Holy Land matters for the whole Church — and why the world should stand in solidarity with these ancient Christian communities.

Pope Leo XIV is sounding the alarm on Europe's demographic crisis, and the data backs him up.

Italy recorded only 355,000 births last year, down 65% from 1964. Every day, 1,800 deaths outpace 1,000 births.

The U.S. is not far behind, with a fertility rate of 1.58 — the lowest in the nation's history.

The Church has been saying this for generations. Now the world must listen.

American Christians, VPP was on the ground in Taybeh when the IDF attempted to stop a Marian festival in the last entirely Christian Palestinian town in the West Bank.

Cardinal Pizzaballa personally intervened to secure permission for the celebration to continue.

This is not an isolated incident. From Gaza to the West Bank to Lebanon, ancient Christian communities face forces that would erase them from the land where Christianity was born.

Your voice and your solidarity matter now more than ever.

A VPP team was on the ground in Taybeh — the last entirely Christian Palestinian town in the West Bank — when Israeli military vehicles entered the village and ordered Christians to stop preparing for a permitted Marian festival honoring the Blessed Virgin Mary.

It took Cardinal Pizzaballa, Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem, personally intervening with Israeli authorities before the celebration was allowed to proceed.

A stun gr***de exploded as Christians prepared to honor Mary in the land where Christianity was born. This is the reality facing ancient Christian communities in the Holy Land today.

The Christian presence in the West Bank is fragile. These communities need the world to pay attention — and to speak up.

No child should grow up surrounded by violence.

And yet, for so many in Gaza, fear is part of everyday life.

We must not become numb to their suffering.

Stand for the protection of every child.
