"I feel fine. Why should I be screened for lung cancer?"
It's one of the most common questions people ask—and one of the most important.

Lung cancer often causes no symptoms until it has reached an advanced stage, which is one reason it remains the leading cause of cancer death. Yet when it's detected early, treatment options expand and outcomes can improve dramatically. That's why screening is designed to find cancer before symptoms appear, when it is most treatable.

Despite clear clinical guidelines, only 15–20 percent of eligible Americans receive an annual low-dose CT (LDCT) screening. Unlike mammograms or colonoscopies, lung cancer screening has not yet become a routine part of preventive care for many people at elevated risk.

That includes current and former smokers, as well as individuals whose occupations may have exposed them to lung carcinogens, such as firefighters, welders, construction workers, miners, and agricultural workers, who should discuss their individual risk and whether screening or other evaluation is appropriate with their healthcare provider.

On World Lung Cancer Day, we're reminded of the critical role imaging plays in detecting disease earlier—when it can make the greatest difference.

At RadNet, we're committed to expanding access to advanced imaging and supporting radiologists with AI-powered tools that combine technology and clinical expertise to support earlier, more confident detection and better-informed patient care.

This National Intern Day, we're recognizing two members of our Strategic Initiatives team who started with RadNet as summer interns: Philip Schutty III and Alexandra Moore.

When they joined the company as summer interns, both arrived with strong technical backgrounds and a passion for analytics. What they didn’t know was how to apply their skills to radiology and healthcare. Philip and Alex excelled in their intern roles and today, both are employed full-time on RadNet’s Strategic Initiatives team.

“RadNet is committed to creating robust career pathways,” said Roman Geiser M.B.A., the company’s Vice President of Strategic Initiatives. “Teaching the basic skills of the job is just one component of training,” he said. “It’s important they understand how their work impacts the company and the people served by RadNet.”

Early detection starts with showing up, every year.

Behind every mammogram is a dedicated team committed to helping detect breast cancer as early as possible.

Annual screening mammograms can identify small changes that may occur between visits, often before symptoms appear, giving women the best opportunity for early detection and treatment.

That’s why RadNet is proud to offer Enhanced Breast Cancer Detection (EBCD®), an advanced screening approach that combines FDA-cleared AI technology with the expertise of your interpreting radiologist and an additional breast imaging specialist review. Together, they provide another layer of confidence throughout the screening process.

Don’t put off your annual mammogram. Because every year matters, every screening matters, and every woman deserves access to advanced breast imaging.

Every Year Matters.

Don't skip your annual mammogram. Small changes can happen between visits, and early detection can make a meaningful difference.

According to the American Cancer Society, about 1 in 8 women in the U.S. will develop invasive breast cancer during their lifetime. Annual screening mammograms play an important role in detecting breast cancer early—often before symptoms appear—when treatment may be more effective and outcomes can be improved.

At RadNet, we're committed to providing advanced screening technology that supports confident, accurate detection. Enhanced Breast Cancer Detection (EBCD®) combines FDA-cleared AI technology with the expertise of your interpreting radiologist and an additional breast imaging specialist review when appropriate, adding another layer of confidence to the screening process.

Because every year matters. Every screening matters.
