What a great way to spend the day. 🐾❤️

Today I had the opportunity to take Canine Myofascial Integration at the Dr. Ida Rolf Institute, taught by Advanced Rolfer Jim Pascucci, with Advanced Rolfer Adam Mentzell assisting.

One of my favorite parts was hearing the history and thought process behind the work and how Jim took the human Rolfing® 10-Series, adapted those Structural Integration principles first to horses, developing a Five Series for quadrupeds, and then brought that work to dogs.

The Five Series progresses through the body in a really thoughtful way:

1️⃣ Opening & superficial tissues
2️⃣ Forelimbs
3️⃣ Hind limbs & pelvis
4️⃣ Back & spine
5️⃣ Head, neck & integration

We even got a little taste of Rolfing school with our canine “models” taking their pre and post work runway walks. 🐕 and it was fascinating to see the changes.

I had the chance to work in depth with Oliver, particularly around some spinal restrictions and vertebral rotations. This was very different from the canine massage training and gait analysis exposure I’ve had.
The work is clearly viewed through the lens of Structural Integration and Rolfing—not simply looking at individual muscles, but at relationships, organization, restrictions and how movement transmits through the entire body.

Oliver also made sure to leave his own contribution to the new home of the Rolf Institute…a generous sprinkling of Labrador dog-hair glitter throughout the building. ✨🐕😂

And after a full day of being assessed, worked on and strutting the runway?

Oliver is absolutely toasted. 🐾💤

IMPORTANT!

Text capabilities is not currently available on my business phone number 720-621-4761.

Of course, the fastest way to book an appt is online. https://coalcreekmassageandbodywork.as.me/

I have a new phone system app, and my number was (just today) ported out from my previous provider.

Text capabilities are in the process of being approved (weird process), but phone CALLS are OK.

I'll post an update once all is set up again.

Picture of my gorgeous pup to get your attention. 🤣 His name is Oliver.

I opened up additional massage hours this week before I head out for continuing education August 23–27! 🙌

If something has been nagging you, **this is a great week to get on my table.

Back pain? Foot pain? Recovering from an injury?
I’m the person for you.

With 20+ years as a massage therapist and extensive training in a wide variety of therapeutic modalities and tools, I don’t approach pain with a one-size-fits-all massage. I draw from decades of experience to tailor the work to what your body needs that day.

My work is especially focused on:
• Back, hip & neck pain
• Foot pain
• Injury recovery
• Chronic tension & mobility issues
• Therapeutic bodywork that gets results **without beating you up**

I’ve added availability **Monday, Wednesday, Thursday & Saturday** this week.

Then I’ll be out of the office August 23–27 for continuing education — adding even more tools to the toolbox. 😊

I often recommend Becoming a Supple Leopard by Dr. Kelly Starrett to so many of my athlete clients. 🏃‍♀️🏋️‍♂️🚴

It’s an incredibly useful resource for understanding how your body moves, why certain areas get cranky, and what you can do between bodywork sessions to keep yourself moving well.

Massage and bodywork can do a lot—but what you do with your body the other 167 hours of the week matters, too.

If you train, compete, or simply like to push your body—this one belongs on your bookshelf. 📚

I truly love what I do and helping you feel more comfortable and at home in your body. ❤️

If you’ve enjoyed our work together, I’d be so grateful if you’d leave a Google review. Even a sentence or two can help "someone who needs this work and just hasn’t found me yet."
