πŸŽ‰ Excited to share that my latest research, "Food noise as a missing piece in obesity treatment," is now published (free to read!) in the International Journal of Obesity.

"Food noise" is the persistent, nagging thoughts about food that many people struggling with weight describeβ€”this piece explores how we can better address it in obesity treatment.

Some good news to share πŸŽ‰ My latest research paper just got published (Open Access, free for anyone to read)!

It's about a puzzle in South Asian health: fish is usually considered one of the healthiest foods you can eat, especially for your heart. And South Asia has been producing way more farmed fish than ever before. But heart disease and related health problems keep rising in South Asian communities anyway. My paper digs into why that might be β€” basically, why fish isn't protecting people the way we'd expect.

Healthcare access and quality remain uneven in Nepal, despite ongoing reforms. The study highlights that significant gaps in service delivery, particularly in public and private hospitals in Eastern Nepal, contribute to patient dissatisfaction. This qualitative study involved eight Focus Group Discussions with health professionals and patients, guided by semi-structured interviews. Key findings include a lack of specialist care, inadequate infrastructure, and high hospital charges, which exacerbate regional disparities and extend waiting times. However, nursing care consistently emerged as a strong component of patient satisfaction.
Although more work is still needed, these findings underscore the importance of enhancing specialist availability, upgrading infrastructure, and expanding health insurance to improve healthcare quality and accountability.
