Need a challenge!?!? 😀

Just when you thought Pistol Squats weren’t hard enough, one of our patients with the guidance of Dr. Grayson Campbell decided to increase the difficulty by performing on a BOSU ball and a water bag. 💦

Obviously, this exercise isn’t for everyone but I love seeing how our therapists get creative to tailor their patients’ rehab program to their unique, individual needs. 🤸‍♀️

Single Leg TKEs after knee arthroscopy is a good option to improve quad recruitment and prepare the leg for greater difficulty movements such as stair climbing, running, and/or jumping. 💪

Here at Dockery & Associates PT we help people from all ages and fitness levels return to doing the things in life they love to do!

Banded Lawnmowers are an EXCELLENT option for shoulder rehab. 🚜

This exercise focuses on scapular strengthening while also recruiting the rotator cuff for shoulder stabilization. 💪

Hope this helps!

Calf Strain Rehab 🏃‍♀️💨

📌 Once pain has subsided, mobility has normalized, strength has progressed, and balance has advanced we can introduce plyometric activities.

🎯 It is important to note that each rehab program depends on an individual’s activity level prior to injury and their functional expectations moving forward. The front desk office worker who sits 90% of the work day will not have as much emphasis on this phase in their rehab program in comparison to the high school athlete & weekend warrior.

🚀 For those patients who need to be able to run, cut, sprint, and jump this stage is important as their is a good chance of re-injury if plyometric activities are not included in their physical therapy.

👆 SEE ABOVE to view one of our patients at D&A PT performing exercises in the later stages of rehab for a calf strain.

❓QUESTIONS or COMMENTS leave below 👇 or message me. Make sure to TAG and SHARE with anyone that has strained their calf.

Give it up for Keller! 🗣️

Keller is a Senior at Bob Jones High School where he plays varsity lacrosse. Unfortunately, injuries are part of high school athletics and that is what happened to Keller earlier this year. He suffered a complete PCL tear in his right knee which immediately put him on the sidelines.🥍

But Keller was determined to get back on the field with his teammates. He fully committed to his physical therapy at Dockery & Associates PT. With hard work and perseverance he was able to get clearance from his medical team by meeting rehab criteria, passing all of his return to sport tests, and progressing back into practice. 🏃‍♂️

Here are a few photos from Keller’s special night with his proud parents and Patriot teammates. We are so proud of him and can’t wait to see what he does next!! 👏

👨‍⚕️ Ultrasound-guided dry needling is a treatment intervention in which small monofilament needles are advanced into myofascial trigger points, chronic tendon pathologies, and regions of nerve injury. Dry needling has been shown to decrease pain and improve function by increasing blood flow, providing oxygen to the tissues, and reducing muscle spasm.

🏃‍♀️ This is just one of many specialized interventions that we at Dockery & Associates Physical Therapy utilize to help you relieve pain and return to doing the things that you love to do in life.
