DBA Immunocompromised Association is a 501(c)(3) organization with a mission to provide education where needed and safer social support for immunocompromised individuals, reducing inherent health risks in the community. We are dedicated to improving the lives of those who are immunocompromised due to disease or treatment including those with primary or secondary immunodeficiencies, cancers, autoimmune disorders, organ or tissue transplant recipients, infectious diseases, immunosuppressive treatments, and anyone with a health condition who would benefit from our mission. A healthy immune system acts as protection from bacteria, viruses, and other airborne particles that can lead to infection. Certain disorders and medical treatments can suppress the immune system significantly. A suppressed immune system leaves a person vulnerable to illness, sometimes dangerously so. Immune system suppression makes it difficult for affected people to live daily lives, as ordinary exposure to commonplace pathogens can lead to illness or death. We are committed to reducing inherent health risks for immunocompromised individuals to have more fulfilling lives with less preventable health risks in the community.
