When played skillfully, the otherworldly sounds of the gong can instantly transport us into deeply meditative and transformative states. This class is ideal for those who are curious about playing the gong for self or for others in many settings, including a personal / family meditation practice, community sound baths, bodywork sessions, and as a powerful addition to a yoga teacher’s repertoire, assisting to create memorable and meaningful relaxation moments in any style of class.
This beginner level course will allow you the opportunity to learn foundational techniques while experiencing and playing multiple styles and sizes of gongs.
Following the completion of the course, students will:
-have mastered basic techniques vital to playing the gong for self and others.
-know how to evaluate and shop for their own gong, stand, and mallets
-have an understanding of how to integrate gong meditation sessions into their current modalities or personal life.
-take home handouts with additional practice exercises
