After we celebrated the pig, we ate him! We had a pig roast of ham, pulled pork, and pork loin, served with butter potatoes, baked beans with extra bacon, and coleslaw. Before lunch we sampled fried pork rinds and pigs in a blanket. And all our sweets were all pink including pink sugar cookies, strawberry mimi donuts, pink wafer cookies, and pink Hostess snow balls. We also had pink lemonade. And Marge made cherry and apple bars for dessert. Everything was so tasty we squealed with delight!

Today at the memory cafe we celebrated everything pig. Pig songs and videos, a hog calling contest, a trivia game about pigs called "Truth or Hogwash'," pig word search puzzles and coloring pages, and we played "pig in a poke" for prizes.

Come get some pork on your fork! Go "hog wild" and "pig out" at the next Purple Angels Memory Cafe this Thursday, June 4, starting at 11:00 AM at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church (on McMillan near the Y) in Marshfield.

Socialize with friends. Support those living with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia and their families and caregivers. Ask questions, get information, but also relax and have fun!

We’re serving a “pig roast” pork dinner with buttered potatoes, baked beans, coleslaw, and rolls. There will be plenty to eat, and fun activities and music, too!
