TATTOOS ARE PERMANENT! ...ish.

• From Approved Sketch to Completed Tattoo •

I am often asked, "Will I see my design before my appointment?"

Yes! For most projects, I send a preliminary sketch thats usually yellow and orange and a little messy, just to show the basic layout of the design. This allows my client to see the direction I'm headed and provide any redirection if necessary. This is then followed by either a second rendition a little cleaner, or a finalized sketch.

Here in the side-by-side photo you see the finalized & approved design. Notice there isnt any shading in the drawing. That is because the approved design is what I use for my stencil so that what you approved is what you'll get ♡ When you come in for the tattoo appointment, we will discuss color plans, or how much shading/contrast, whether or not you want white highlights, etc. We discuss it in person day-of so that we can go back and forth about what would look best on your skin, longevity, the vibe youre wanting, the style and such.

"Do you use shading references?"

Honestly, I rarely do. A lot of the shading is already laid out in my head. If reference photos were provided in your booking form, I take those as shading reference for my mental notes while I'm creating the tattoo on your skin.

Each individual design for each client is tailored to their needs and specific design and style, but generally this is how your finalized design (stencil) looks compared to your tattoo. Sometimes we get really wild & I use markers to draw your stencil, or parts of it, directly onto your skin! 🫢
