Your nervous system responds to the way you breathe. When life feels overwhelming, a few minutes of intentional breathing can make a beautiful difference in how you feel.
Try these 3 practices to invite more peace into your day.
1ď¸âŁ Long Deep Breathing
Rest one hand on your belly and one on your chest. Breathe slowly through your nose, filling your belly first, then your chest. Exhale completely, allowing the breath to release naturally.
Practice for 1â3 minutes.
This gentle breathing pattern supports relaxation, releases tension, and brings you back into the present moment.
2ď¸âŁ Alternate Nostril Breathing
Close your right nostril with your thumb and inhale through the left. Switch sides and exhale through the right. Inhale through the right, switch again, and exhale through the left.
Repeat this cycle for 1â3 minutes.
A beautiful practice for quieting mental chatter, encouraging emotional balance, and cultivating clarity.
3ď¸âŁ Sitali Breath | The Cooling Breath âď¸
Roll your tongue into a tube and extend it slightly past your lips. Draw a slow breath in through your tongue, close your mouth, and breathe out through your nose.
Continue for 1â3 minutes.
If your tongue doesnât curl, try inhaling through gently parted teeth instead. This is known as Sitkari Breath.
This practice is traditionally used to cool the body, settle agitation, and create a sense of calm.
⨠The more often you practice conscious breathing, the more familiar that peaceful state becomes. Even a few minutes each day can support a more regulated nervous system and a greater sense of self-trust.
đ Save these 3 techniques for the moments you need a reset, and share this with someone who could benefit from a little breathing space.
