Another active day is in store with most locations having a 20% to 50% chance of showers and thunderstorms from noon/12PM through at least 9PM, with lingering light showers possible past midnight. Thunderstorms will be capable of gusty 45 to 60 mph winds, frequent lightning, and heavy rain. Localized flooding due to heavy rain is possible.

🌩️ WEATHER AWARENESS — SEVERE WEATHER POSSIBLE THIS AFTERNOON 🌩️

Heads up, Salt Creek area! We could see strong to severe thunderstorms this afternoon, bringing the potential for heavy rainfall, gusty winds, hail, and additional flooding.

With some areas already dealing with saturated ground and standing water, even more heavy rain could quickly create dangerous conditions.

🌧️ If you encounter floodwater:
🚫 Turn around — don’t drown
🚗 Never drive through a flooded roadway
⚡ Stay indoors during thunderstorms when possible
📱 Keep an eye on weather alerts and changing conditions
🌊 Remember: water can rise and move quickly, even where flooding isn’t normally a concern.

Please stay weather aware today and be prepared to change your plans if storms develop.

🚒 WHY DO FIREFIGHTERS “FILL THE BOOT” FOR MDA? 🥾❤️

You may have seen us sharing that Salt Creek Emergency Services is participating in MDA’s Fill the Boot this weekend!

But why do firefighters do this?

Firefighters and the Muscular Dystrophy Association have a long-standing partnership through Fill the Boot, helping raise money to support individuals and families living with muscular dystrophy, ALS, and related neuromuscular diseases.

As firefighters, helping people is what we do — and sometimes that means putting down the hose and picking up a boot! 🚒❤️

🚒💪 WE’RE GIVING OUR STATION GYM A MAKEOVER!

Salt Creek Emergency Services is currently revamping our workout area and replacing some of our old, worn-out equipment.

Our volunteers put in long hours and need to stay strong, fit, and ready for whatever call comes our way. We’re looking for new or gently used exercise equipment to help us upgrade what we already have at the station.

We’re interested in things like:
🏋️ Dumbbells & free weights
💪 Weight benches & racks
🚴 Exercise bikes
🏃 Treadmills
🔥 Functional fitness equipment
🧘 Mats & other workout equipment

Have equipment you’re no longer using? We’d love to give it a second life while helping our crew stay in shape!

🎉 CONGRATULATIONS! 🎉

Please join us in congratulating our Public Information Officer on an incredible accomplishment!

Today, she completed her ICS-400: Advanced Incident Command System course, marking the completion of all required classes needed to open her PIO III task book! 👏🔥

This is a huge milestone and a testament to her dedication, hard work, and commitment to growing as a member of our team. She has put in the time, completed the training, and is now ready to take the next step toward becoming a fully qualified PIO III.

We are proud to have Ashley representing our department and look forward to watching her continue to grow in this important role.
