This patient’s overbite was SO severe, he couldn’t close his lips over his teeth 😦. This sort of dental flaring is commonly seen with prolonged thumb sucking habits. With braces and extraction treatment, we were able to achieve the following goals:

✅ Reduced front tooth flaring
✅ Reduced lip strain
✅Reduced risk of dental trauma
✅ Improved facial profile
✅Improved smile esthetics
✅Teeth kept within their bony housing!!

✨Second molar impaction appreciation post 🤓✨A patient in her teens presented to us with multiple impactions of her canines and second molars. While the canines erupted on their own as we made space for them with braces, the second molars were very angulated with the third molars present and so a referral was made to our local oral surgeon. Completed in one appointment, the oral surgeon extracted the third molars and uprighted the second molars (beautiful work!👏🏼). We expect the teeth to remain vital (high success reported in the literature) and the bony defects to fill in with bone over time with good oral hygiene. After the procedure, we saw the patient back to bond brackets on the molars now that the crowns were exposed to continue their alignment. Stay tuned for her final result!

Amazing transformation for this patient! 🤩 Along with braces treatment and extractions, the following goals were met:

✅ Severe crowding alleviated
✅ Lateral openbite closed
✅ Anterior crossbite corrected
✅ Smile symmetry and arc improved
✅ Brushing and flossing made easier

When ortho and restorative dentistry unite 🙌🏼 This patient came to us wanting to close the gaps between his front teeth. With undersized upper lateral incisors, he was informed that they would need to be built to the right proportions by his dentist for us to be able to close all of the space. With braces, we closed the front gap and allocated space for his dentist to place composite buildups. Now all that remains is to close the remaining space. Stay tuned for the final result!
