On May 12th, CWB was honored to serve the community of Pital, San Carlos, Costa Rica, through a medical clinic held at a local school.

Three CWB representatives, alongside a dedicated physician, came together to provide free, comprehensive medical exams for 102 children between the ages of 1 and 12. When needed, medications were provided to ensure each child received the care they deserved. In addition to medical exams, CWB provides an opportunity to educate children and families on the best health practices for their own long term wellbeing so that they can look forward to a hopeful future.

Through initiatives like these clinics, CWB is committed to strengthening the health and well-being of Costa Rican children, supporting their growth, and creating opportunities for a brighter future. Together, we are bringing hope, one child at a time.

In Costa Rica, nearly one in three children live in poverty. For many families, healthcare isn’t simply a matter of need — it’s a matter of access. Children in rural and low-income communities often go without dental care, vision screenings, mental health support, and even the most basic medical treatment because hospitals are too far away, wait times are too long, or care is simply unaffordable. Behind Costa Rica’s natural beauty are children waiting for the care every child deserves.

CWB Helps bridge the gap by providing free medical care to children in need. Last week, we held a clinic at Centro Educativo Los Angeles in the Limon province. We paid one doctor to give FREE exams to 85 children. These clinics are possible thanks to our amazing volunteers and donors like you. CWB has an annual budget of 66 thousand dollars, all from donations. With that, we provide the equivalent of over 1.7 million dollars in medical care. Happy Mother’s Day from all of us at CWB! Here’s a glimpse of some of the loving mothers we’ve met over the years. Mothers just want to give their children the best chance at a happy and healthy life and we are grateful to be able to help them do just that. In April, CWB was overjoyed to offer a clinic in the small village of San Juan Sur, San Ramón in the province of Alajuela, Costa Rica.
San Ramon is a rural area surrounded by wilderness and farmland. As in the rest of Costa Rica, about 25% of the population falls below the poverty line. Many of these families have a difficult time accessing quality healthcare.
Thanks to our generous donors, we were able to pay two highly skilled doctors to offer free exams, preventative care and free medicine to 80 children, and our incredible volunteers made the clinic run smoothly.
CWB helps bridge the large gaps in the Costa Rican health care system and give these children the care they need and deserve. %100 of our budget comes from donations from people like you. Some scenes from our recent clinic at Centro de Educativo Cimarrones Turrialba Cartago. We had two doctors provide free exams to 45 Children! As always, we are endlessly grateful for the support of our volunteers and donors.
