• Take deep breaths
• Stretch my body
• Move my body
• Lie down
• Run cold water on my wrists
• Stand outside & feel the fresh air
• Have something sweet or sour & focus on the taste
✨ To help me to feel safe:
• Take deep breaths
• Stretch my body
• Move my body
• Lie down

• Stand outside & feel the fresh air
• Have something sweet or sour & focus on the taste
• Talk to someone who supports me
• Go to a place that makes me feel safe
• Use your 5 senses to remind yourself you are sate in your environment
• Hold a comfort object
• Spend time with someone who calms me
✨ To calm my mind:
I can tell myself:
• "This feeling will pass"
• "I can handle this moment one step at a time"
• "This feeling is uncomfortable, but it is not dangerous"
• "Worried thoughts are not facts"
• "I have been overwhelmed / stressed before & I got through it, like I will today"
✨ To distract myself from anxious thoughts:
• Engage with a hobby
• Colour or doodle
• Listen to a favourite song, or sing it in my head
• Think about something 1am
excited for
• Read a book
• Use the 54321 technique
• Count 5 blue things in the room
• Play on a game
• Play with a fidget toy
