Running Club is officially in motion, and we’re already heading into week THREE.
This has turned into such a different addition to our space in the best way.
From now until October, we’re meeting once a week to strengthen, learn, move, challenge ourselves, and connect through running. Some weeks are strength focused, some conditioning, some mobility and stretching, some recovery based, some educational. We’ve talked breathing, pacing, recovery, hips, mobility, mental focus, and how strength training truly plays into running and overall movement.
What’s stood out the most though has been the people in this group.
The encouragement during workouts.
The conversations during runs.
People helping each other through stretches.
Sharing knowledge, stories, goals, struggles, progress, race ideas, tips, and experiences.
We have so many different types of runners in this group already. Some people are experienced runners, some are just starting, some are here for physical goals, some mental, and some simply wanted a change of pace and a reason to move differently.
Every week new people continue joining and the support between everyone has been really cool to watch unfold naturally.
So honestly, thank you to everyone who has joined this program already. Thank you for showing up with good attitudes, encouragement, openness to learning, and willingness to try something different with us. This “program” has brought a completely different energy into the space and we’re really excited to keep building it through October.
We’ve also teamed up with Palace City Kiwanis as we work toward race season together. We’ll be choosing a lucky few participants from the group whose entry into the 5K or Half Marathon will be covered by us.
Below is a growing list of local races from now through October that we’ve started compiling for the group. If we missed any local races, fun runs, charity runs, or community events, comment them below so we can continue adding to the list for everyone.
