BEFORE TRYING A NEW CANNABIS PRODUCT, READ THE LABEL

The product name is only the beginning. Take a moment to look for:

• THC and C*D amounts
• Serving or dose information
• Ingredients
• Terpene profile, if listed
• Testing and expiration dates
• Storage instructions

Avoid comparing products by THC percentage alone. The complete label provides a much better picture of what you are purchasing.

If anything is unclear, ask the dispensary pharmacist before using it.

INTRODUCING TERPENE TUESDAY
Have you ever wondered why different cannabis products can smell citrusy, earthy, floral, or piney?

Meet terpenes, the naturally occurring aromatic compounds found in cannabis and many other plants. Terpenes help create a plant’s distinctive scent and flavor.

Over the next few weeks, we’ll introduce you to some of the most commonly encountered terpenes.

Which aroma do you prefer: citrus, lavender, pine, or earthy?

NOT SURE WHAT TO ASK AT THE DISPENSARY?

Pennsylvania dispensaries have pharmacists available to help patients understand their options. Before your visit, consider making a short list of questions:

• What is the THC-to-C*D ratio?
• How long might the effects take to begin?
• Approximately how long could they last?
• What amount should a new patient begin with?
• Could this interact with my medications?
• How should the product be stored?

There is no such thing as a silly question. Understanding a product before using it is an important part of responsible medical cannabis care.

Did you know?

Anxiety is an approved qualifying condition for the medical cannabis programs in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

Patients must already have a diagnosis from a healthcare provider and may need documentation of that diagnosis.

MediCalm provides the medical cannabis certification appointment—it does not diagnose the underlying condition.

Questions about what you’ll need? Call or text 484-440-9494.

🌿 Living with chronic pain can affect far more than the part of your body that hurts.

It can interfere with sleep, work, movement, relationships, and the everyday things you once took for granted. And when the options you’ve already tried aren’t providing enough relief, it’s understandable to start asking, “What else is available to me?”

One option some patients are exploring with qualified healthcare professionals is medical cannabis.

Our article, “Medical Cannabis for Chronic Pain in Pennsylvania and New Jersey,” takes a closer look at medical cannabis as a potential part of chronic pain management, including what patients should know before deciding whether it belongs in their care plan.

Medical cannabis isn’t right for everyone, and it isn’t a guaranteed solution. Cannabis can also cause side effects and interact with medications. But for eligible patients, discussing it with a knowledgeable healthcare professional may open the door to another individualized treatment option.

The important thing is having the opportunity to ask questions, understand the potential benefits and risks, and make an informed decision based on "your health, your circumstances, and your goals."

That’s also what the "Centered Care Directory" is about. 💚

We’re helping people discover independent physicians and practitioners who have the time and freedom to approach care differently, listen to the whole story, discuss available options, and build relationships centered around the individual rather than a one-size-fits-all system.

💬 If you live with chronic pain, do you feel like you’ve been given enough information about all of the treatment options available to you?

🌿 Better information. More informed choices. Care centered around you.
