"I'm just not the type."
It's the phrase that ends most fitness journeys before they start. And it's almost always wrong — not because you're secretly a "gym person," but because nobody is, until they decide to be.
Identity isn't something you discover. It's something you claim, and then live into. The person who runs claimed "I'm a runner" long before the miles felt easy. The person who lifts decided they were a lifter on a day they could barely finish a warm-up.
So the question isn't whether you're the type. The question is: what type do you want to become — and what's the smallest choice today that a person like that would make?
Make that one. Then make it again tomorrow. That's how the type gets built.
