Since the 1960's, a wide variety of ABA techniques have been developed for building useful skills in learners with autism of all ages. ABA methods are used to develop skills like looking, listening and imitating, as well as complex skills like reading, conversing, and interacting with peers.

Autism Awareness Month focuses on celebrating autistic identity while addressing community. Everyone deserves to be seen, heard, and accepted just as they are. Each child experiences the world in their own unique way—including autistic children—and all share the same desire for love, friendship, and to have fun.

Friendship means making space for one another, whether that’s embracing shared interests, respecting sensory needs, or simply listening with care. When children understand the different ways their autistic classmates learn and experience the world, they’re better equipped to build kind, inclusive, and meaningful friendships.

If you haven't made it to Minnetrista Museum & Gardens to view the butterflies decorated by our ABA kids, they will be up in the cantina for one more week!!
