I’ll never forget the night an evergreen shrub comforted me outside of a local steakhouse…💚
I was out to dinner with friends and family, and somehow nearly everyone at the table ordered something with onions.
For those who don’t know me, I’m allergic to onions, and even the smell can be overwhelming for my system. That night there were fried onions, fresh onions…onions seemed to be everywhere, and my senses went into overwhelm.
I finally reached a point where I just needed to step outside and breathe in some fresh air.
Upon exiting, I was hit by a cloud of cigarette smoke, still unable to fully breathe😅 So I walked farther down, found a bench beside an evergreen shrub, and sat for a minute.
And that’s when I heard it.
Almost like a little voice in my mind and heart saying:
“Hello there. Whether big like the trees or small like me, we’re always here for you—ready to help and support you whenever you need us. All you have to do is ask.”
It felt so gentle. This little nature being sensed how overwhelmed my system was and extended a helping hand.
In a moment where I felt overstimulated, misunderstood, and a little alone in all the noise, the shrub beside me felt like both a steady presence and a literal breath of fresh air.
This was early on in my nature communication journey, and that moment became one of those sacred experiences I’ll never forget.
I sat there, breathed deeply, tuned into the heart frequency of the evergreen shrub beside me…and instantly felt my nervous system settle.
Sometimes nature surprises us in the most ordinary places and turns them into something sacred—creating a little peace amidst the chaos.
Sometimes it’s a tree.
Sometimes it’s an animal.
And sometimes… it’s an evergreen shrub outside of a Texas Roadhouse. 🥰🙏🏻🌳🌿💚✨
