Disability Options Network believes accessibility is essential, not optional.

Everyone deserves equal access to communication, transportation, technology, and community participation. This month, we recognize individuals with hearing, speech, and mobility disabilities while celebrating the importance of inclusive and accessible spaces for all.

At Disability Options Network, we believe true inclusion happens when barriers are removed and opportunities are accessible to everyone.

Help us spread the word about an exciting opportunity with the Human Engineering Research Laboratories (HERL) at the University of Pittsburgh! 💙♿

HERL is currently growing their Assistive Technology Registry 2.0 to help connect people with disabilities, care-partners, advocates, students, professionals, and community members with future research opportunities that can shape the future of assistive technology.

What makes HERL unique is that many of their staff, faculty, and investigators are people with disabilities themselves — meaning the research is driven and led by the very community it serves. Similar to Centers for Independent Living, HERL believes in “walking the walk” by ensuring lived experience is at the center of innovation and accessibility.

Participants who take part in studies are compensated for their time, and every voice helps influence future research and technology development.

If you are interested in learning more or joining the registry, check out the flyer below and scan the QR code! 📲
