Fight with Robbie

Hi, everyone!
Meal train has been the biggest lifesaver for us through Robbie’s treatment. Most of our time now is spent recovering from radiation side effects and managing what the next steps are to get caught up in normal life and getting the rest of our kids needs in order.
Next week we start the whole labs, scans and procedures like lumbar puncture again for a couple weeks and people asked me to add some dates to meal train to help out! Thank you to all who have provided us with such nutritious and delicious meals. You have provided our family with health and nourishment and taken a huge weight off our shoulders.

Throwback to Robbie at 6 years old busting out of Boston Children’s Hospital (added other pics after) after a severe pneumonia. He had several of these when he was younger battling viral induced asthma; even on Christmas once.
We thought those were the tough days… 🫁 😮‍💨

WE DID IT!
ROBBIE DID IT!

We hit a HUGE milestone.
OUR LAST RADIATION SESSION! 😲
I can’t believe it. This day seemed SO far away when he got diagnosed in December.

We are far from out of the woods but we are seeing the light at the end of the tunnel for sure. Robbie has been experiencing some symptoms that need close monitoring and also has his next MRI and lumbar puncture scheduled.

I LOVE seeing this guy so peaceful right before radiation treatment.

Our hard work at home on both mental and physical health is paying off. 💛🩶

We have been so blessed by our community and supporters for the ability for me to be home with him full time to be able to make this so much easier on Robbie. We are thankful for every minute of it. Moments like these make it all worth it. 😊

The nurses went above and beyond today and tried extra hard to make Robbie comfortable.
Unfortunately he got sick mid treatment again so starting a new plan tomorrow! More Ativan, IV…. A little earlier. 😢
Thankful we have options and also, today marked his halfway point of radiation!!! 🤩

POSITIVE POST! 🙂

A HUGE thank you to Sean Sullivan (Tracy Sullivan) for the hookup! Point Sebago family at its finest.
Before treatment Wednesday Sean met us at the Boston Fire Department on Cambridge street right near the hospital to introduce Robbie to the crew. They are allowing us to park there for free whenever we need to during his treatment.
They treat Robbie like one of their own and we are so thankful! ❤️🚒🧯💛

I snapped this photo to share a vulnerable moment with my husband who had to be at home.

Robbie was crying because he feels bad that we now have to be at radiation appointments for a longer time in order to sedate him with IV Ativan.
“I feel bad mom, we could be here for a shorter time but because I need more help, you have to be here longer when you could be taking care of other things.”

My heart absolutely broke! 💔😭

Of course I immediately explained that I’m exactly where I want to be and nothing else matters as much as this.

My words provided immediate comfort but I hope he continues to find the strength to go through this every single day.
It WILL be worth it in the end. 🙏
