📝 WHY I STILL LOG MY WORKOUTS THE OLD-SCHOOL WAY…
Nothing fancy.
No app.
No elaborate tracking system.
Just my slightly beat-up notebook and a pen. 😂
I could track everything on my phone, but for me, keeping a workout log serves a much bigger purpose than just remembering my weights.
📵 FEWER DISTRACTIONS
No texts. No emails. No social media. No picking up my phone to log a set and somehow ending up on Instagram 10 minutes later. 😂
⏱️ IT KEEPS MY WORKOUT MOVING
Finish my set → walk over → write down my weight + reps → grab some water → and by the time I’m done, it’s pretty much time to go again.
💪 I KNOW EXACTLY WHAT I DID LAST TIME
I have enough things taking up space in my brain. Remembering what weight I used last Tuesday does NOT need to be one of them. 😂
📈 I CAN ACTUALLY SEE PROGRESSIVE OVERLOAD
Did I add weight? Get another rep? Improve my form or control?
Instead of thinking I’m progressing, I have the receipts. 😉
🎯 NO RANDOM WORKOUTS
I walk in with a plan. I know what I’m training, what I did last time and what I’m trying to accomplish today.
👀 IT KEEPS ME HONEST
Sometimes we think we’re progressing… until we look back and realize we’ve been using the same weight and reps for months.
📝 I CAN NOTICE PATTERNS
Weights, reps, energy, how something felt — those little notes can tell you a lot over time.
And probably one of my favorite reasons…
👏 IT SHOWS ME PROGRESS THAT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE SCALE.
More weight.
More reps.
Better form.
Better control.
Feeling stronger.
THAT is progress too.
Tracking your workouts isn't about being obsessive.
It's about training with intention.
Have a plan.
Track what you do.
Stay focused.
Keep progressing. 💪
And sometimes… putting the phone down is part of the workout too. 😉
So tell me…
