Your young athlete trains their strength, speed, endurance, and technical skills—but who is training the brain behind every play?
Athletic performance depends on much more than muscle. An athlete must see the play, process information, make a decision, coordinate movement, and respond under pressure—often in a fraction of a second.
In this video, Dr. Scott Haggerty introduces brain laser therapy, also called transcranial photobiomodulation. This noninvasive technology uses specific wavelengths of red and near-infrared light with the goal of supporting cellular energy, circulation, and healthy neurological function.
Researchers are studying transcranial photobiomodulation for possible effects on areas such as:
• Sustained attention
• Working memory
• Reaction time
• Cognitive processing
• Brain-cell energy production
• Neuroplasticity
• Mental fatigue and recovery
Brain laser therapy does not replace training, coaching, nutrition, sleep, or medical care. It is intended to support the brain that allows an athlete to learn, adapt, and perform.
Research remains developing—particularly for healthy children and adolescent athletes. Findings from adult studies cannot automatically be applied to youth athletes, and athletic-performance improvement is not guaranteed.
